Stephen Humphreys - The Ultimate Media Manipulator.

Here we go again, with Stephen Humphreys , first flying to England to get his man's signature on paper , and now finally talking Leicester CEO, Peter Wheeler, into releasing the WT's massive catch early off his contract, so he can be ready for the Wests Tiger's first round home game , so that he will secure for the club another 10,000 bottoms on seasts…..even if it is a Monday night game.

We all have to admit, this new CEO, is not only good , he is one of the Ultimate media manipulators I have ever seen, since Madonna in her heyday.

Trust me, the Lote deal was done even before he organized his PA to book the flights to England ,and the Lote's release was organized days before he mentioned it to the media.Humphreys is way to much a professional manipulator to get a droplet of egg on his face.

His timing is uncanny....for example , last night while I am watching FOX Sports News about another dingbat up at Newcastle Knights getting arrested for supplying drugs, comes a piece on the Wests Tigers players doing a good Manners Course with a stylish good looking lady by the name of Anna Musson from Good Manners - the 'Modern Manners' expert for Channel Seven's "The Morning Show" - the presentation covered topics such as entering a room with confidence, how to introduce yourself correctly, how to leave a function properly to dress codes and the rules for stylish dressing........hey , while crap is flying around our great game, Humphreys has the Wests Tigers Club, and his players, smelling like roses.

If I knew how good this guy was, I would have had my company up(couldn't afford it) to be a major sponsor, as Proton,MKB Contracting & UD Trucks have got their money's worth , even before the seson has started.

This man is doing everything right, and I reckon his got the Midus touch, and the players will award his first full year as King of the Tigers, with a Premeirship.

u are basing this of what?… what Media wrote? what this forum says?

way off the mark.

If you beleive Humphries is that good, you should be able to tell that the deal WASNT done before Lote left for England.
fact of the matter is the deal wasnt done untill 3rd party arrangments were confirmed 3 weeks before the announcement. and IF the deal had been done before hand there wouldnt have been the need for the CEO to go all the way to England..
People here always try and 2nd guess what the club is thinking or what they are doing.. mainly based of media reports and speculation.

Things happen -

I do know that Humphreys joins the club with a wealth of business, management and leadership experience that includes senior management roles at Qantas and British Airways.

I don't care when the deal was done. All I care about at the moment are the flood of good news stories the Wests Tigers are getting. The club certainly seems to be heading in the right direction. Now we just need to show that on the field…

Tim Sheens said something interesting in an interview a few weeks ago, something along the lines of:

"If you surround yourself with good people, they just get straight into it and get things done"

You can buy a Television from ALDI, but at the end of the day the Sony Bravia is going to impress!
maybe, just maybe, we might become the NRL's Manches…. nope, i'm getting ahead of myself too early!!!!

Put it this way Alad,
Humphreys and his two little boys met us at the ticket office at Bluetongue Stadium last weekend to hand us two tickets which we had requested, he went out of his way to meet us there and was straight on the phone to us when he arrived. Not only that, he was generous enough to give us three free tickets, so i gave the extra one away.
Whilst we had a brief chat, a point of note i made was how much he was enjoying his job. Anyone will tell you that if they are happy with their job, they will do a good job.

Wow! That is bloody fantastic. I'm respecting this guy more and more by the day. He starting to remind me of Todd Greenberg, who appears to have put all things right again at the Bulldogs.
Lets hope the 2010 results on the field reflect the hard work Humphreys has put into this club already.

He has a pretty good job though doesn't he.

I can see myself there after senior management roles elsewhere. I'll be loaded and move into a highish paying job that involves supporting the team I love.

It wouldn't be bad would it.

After saying that the club just seeems to be well managed doesn't it. Sheens has played a major role in this imo and although I sometimes cringe at his team selections that is about the only thing i can complain about.

Gotta agree there.

Well it was Sheens who had the falling out with Longmuir which forced this hand.

But as for his team selections….now where did i put the Panadol?

I agree 100%, Juro,I started this thread , not to start an arguement of when the Lote deal was done, but to note what a fantastic CEO we have on board, who is doing a great job for the club, it's sponsors and as CT pointed out , the team's loyal fans.

It just seems to me that Mr Humphrey is very good at preparing his announcements , when it suits him and when it is always a positive one

Dunno…great what the club does...But I'd swap the elocution lessons and deportment for a few more wins....

At least when they Grind the Manly scum into the turf...they will do it with manners I guess...

BTW ...Humphreys isn't a manipulator...He's just a class act!!!!

I know what I will be saying when we smash them into the turf.

"How do you do Manly!!"

No no, you have to drop the 'do'. It is 'How you do'.

And I get what you are saying Aladinsane. I admit I was thinking how well it worked out that the good manners thing was on the news right next to the drama with Knights.
