Stephen Humphries on the Game Plan One HD on Thursday Night

I thought Humphreys handled himself well considering Bulldog Ritchie was up front with him.

To summarise:

The Tigers are not releasing 4 or 5 players just to sign Blair;
Humphreys not aware of Marshall allegedly pulling Sheens on about breaking up the squad;
No issue with team harmony;
Humphreys hopeful of getting Blair, likes the fact he can play the full 80 minutes and can handle either front or backrow, very professional;
Highlighted the fact that Marshall, Ellis, Galloway, Lawrence, Ayshford have all recently been re-signed on long-term deals when asked about the loss of Fifita, Gibbs and McKinnon and the balancing act in keeping the good junior talent coming through while having a good mix of leadership and staying under the cap;
Moltzen not going anywhere;
Fulton given permission to look but highly likely to stay next season; and
Happy with the 4-4 split between Campbelltown and Leichardt. Will monitor the situation closely and if it is viable to play more games at the traditional grounds, then the club will look at it.

I just hope he was upfront and honest about this all .Last thing this club needs is to be treating us all like mushrooms

yr a machine Willow

Spot on.

ps - He is very smooth and appears to have an honest quality…

Willow, at the time I started a thread on this same topic tonight, I was unable to add to this thread as it was locked, otherwise I would have preferred to add to this thread.

The only reason Motz & Fuls were not let go is because their contracts were so back ended no one could afford them. They like Gibbs & Fiffita were pushed, guaranteed.

Interesting comment Bob particularly in relation to Moltzen as I had the impression that he is in favour at the club and also a mate of Benji's. I am surprised to hear your comment about him.

Fifita wasn't pushed, he simply got a better offer that couldn't be refused and the Tigers were actually doing him a favour by letting him take the deal…why can't some people get that through their heads?!

Saw the interview. It was a series of Dorothy dix questions. Humphreys had prepared answers for each question.

No questions on the salary cap issues from last season or the reports the admin team made an error in salary cap levels in future seasons. That is what I was interested to hear.

Good work couso.

This is 100% correct

If we made him stay he would have played rotten if played at all.

Good luck.

Hump has probably answered all the same questions hundreds of times that why his answers looked rehersed.

Plus I imagine he probably had a fairly good idea of the types of questions he would be asked and made sure he was prepared for them.

The recruitment program and the development of players at the Tigers is disgraceful. I don't want to name players but there have been potential first graders running around in the State Cup that will never get a go with this club particularly if they play for the Magpies. There are players in the first grade who in my opinion are are just reserve graders but they get picked week in and week out.
There is no strategic planning at player level and the club will continue to struggle each year under the current management. I thought Humpheries spoke a lot of garbage and was most unimpressive!

You should have added "in my opinion".

What players? What garbage?

Given it is such a devisive issue, there is no way that he would have gone on there without knowing what questions were going to be asked. Just another powder puff piece from the WT's
