So what!
He says what he thinks at the time … rather than go crawling up peoples rear ends to make them happy, or worry about what he said last week.
Anyways, how on earth do you know the admiration is fake?
I've met him on a few occasions and, although I loved him as a player, didn't take to him personally.
All that aside... he loves the Tigers (nothing fake about that) and is more qualified to give an opinion, right or wrong, than anyone I can think of on this forum.

Blocker, Ennis, Tallis all favoured by the media because they say what they think and dont care if its popular opinion.
They create interest in being disliked just like they did as players.
Dont think criticism worries them too much because they all have the runs on the board in regard to their contribution and achievements in the game, and they have always been characters that fans love to hate anyway.
Still maintain Blocker reads the game well when commentating - despite popular opinion on here.

I don't think NSW will go with Brooks at 7 , however his name has come up in discussions. I don't think these comments will do any harm to Brooks. Moses name got mentioned in the preseason and his head got even bigger. I think he now sees himself as an immortal

I agree with you GNR. I’ve always had s soft spot for Roach but for the last few years I can’t stand his comments on the Tigers.

To me he comes across as the disgruntled girlfriend who puts her claws into you every chance she can, especially, since he was removed from any role at the club. I’m a Balmain Tigers original and I believe his criticism of the Wests Tigers has amplified when Wests Magpies gained control which is not on in my opinion.

Sure, he is a Balmain legend but that doesn’t make his opinion any more right or wrong than any of us on this forum nor does it carry any more weight. If anything the club, game or fans don’t owe him anything, in fact, he owes both the club, the game and fans everything.

As for his current comments of “support” it is definitely fake in my opinion and I will be proven right as his boot will come out as soon as the Tigers have a slump (hopefully not anytime soon)

I like what he has to say this time.

He says what he thinks and I don't always agree with it but this time I do.

I also said not long ago, that Brooks is playing himself into origin consideration. I disagree with comments linking brooks to an origin spot will add pressure. I think it will give him further confidence. Suggesting someone is playing well enough to be considered for origin shouldn't put pressure on a sports person it should spark them to play better.

Being compared to a legend of the game well that is different cause your trying to live up to expectation, that adds pressure.

Brooks problems were closely Linked to our playing roster, and coach. He is playing behind a solid pack, with a good halves partner and is being coached properly and most importantly we are winning games.

If we were all measured as fans for being critical of the club -well then we are all guilty.
Every NRL commentator/ fan has been critical of our club/ team at some point because we deserved it.
For the first time in a long time we have something to be positive about and of course opinons will reflect that - just like they have on this forum.
Blocker may have an issue with individuals that were involved with the club at some point it happens with lots of ex players that are involved with clubs - but don't think that is basis for questioning his reaction to our current success.

Poor Blocker. Loved watching him play but he really doesn’t have much of an idea. Just trying to make himself relevant I guess.

In Blocker's day they were not on big money so they have to keep their earnings coming in no matter how. Tommy R used to sell tomatoes etc etc
