Steve Folkes - Back in 14

I have heard a whisper from a friend of a friend that Steve Folkes will be back at the Tigers next year to join his old teammate Mick Potter

That would be a dream come true.

No coincidence our defence and fitness was good when Folkes was onboard.

Both Potter and Folkes know how to win and played in the great Canterbury sides in the 80's.

Mayer mentioned on Twitter he had been speaking with Folkes yesterday. Hopefully it's true, the best we've ever looked was when Folkes was here.

Yeah I'd be very happy to see Folkes back with us, either at his old role as conditioner/high performance or even as assistant coach.

Hope it happens!

This would be the best news this club could achieve this season :stuck_out_tongue: I always believed he was the X Factor when our club was in the finals in '10 & '11\. Please let this be true 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray:

It would be a good move if true, I like the fact Potter and Folkes are no-nonsense old school blokes who don't take crap. It would also be great for the young blokes coming through for their development.

Steve Folkes was great for us,and a champion bloke too,I have met him and he is down to earth.

That would be a fantastic move. For his previous work here, Steve has a lot of respect from us fans. Would welcome him back in a heartbeat!

Great news if true - he was a true unsung hero during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

I remember watching our boys carve and more importantly BASH the Warriors up that season 50-6 at Campbelltown, and it was my first real thought of "Hang on, were could be a premiership threat here"

on a sidenote, I watched a couple of games the other night - the 2010 semi vs the Roosters, and the 2010 semi vs the raiders.

We are such a shadow of that team now. The game against Canberra in particular when our backs were to the wall, all the press was writing us off, and Canberra were the Channel 9 fairytale.

Lote streaking past Dugan down the sideline gave me goosebumps….

The boys just had a look of "No nonsense" about them. something I haven't seen since the end of 2011 - It's as if the glint left the eye. 2012 they tried hard, but only seemed to regain it for one game (ironically against Canberra)

If that team lined up against our current team, it'd would make the recent game against Souths look like a close encounter.

Potter and folkes to be reunited. I'm sure they played together in the 1984 grand final for the dogs

Probably the root of the rumour.

Did GM say what the discussion was about?

Great News if true.

Having won a Premiership and already been at the Club in 2010, 2011… I thought he was unlucky not to get the nod after we sacked Sheens.

Always handy having a Premiership winning coach on your books. Unless its Michael Hagan,
