Stewart v Gallop

It shouldnt matter. The NRL suspended Brett for being drunk in public. Every player who is drunk in public should recieve the same penalty. The fact that Brett has been the only one tells me they got it wrong. Or has he been the player who has been drunk in public?

It's one thing to get drunk at the pub with a few mates. It is another entirely to be named the face of the game, go on a bender at a sponsor function and act the complete fool, get tossed out.

All the business about him being charged with that girl - nothing to do with the ban.

As stated the same person got just one week for running 50m to cannonball into a fight; the bloke he struck got 5 weeks and missed the finals altogether.

Had Manly not played this out in the media and carry on like my 2 year old daughter they may have got an apology.

On the grand final stage is NOT the time to do it.

Build a bridge Brett and get over it.

Build a bridge let him get half way across it and blow it up
See Gallop walking away sheepishly with an ear to ear grin
Thats Gold !!

You'd think after he only got a week for his kamikaze charge on Blair that he'd call it even. What a bitter little man he must be - you win a premiership and that's the first thing on your mind?

Yoss I know that I am making assumptions about this but no doubt Hasler probably created a siege mentality before the GF Everyone against Manly The other fans ,the NRL itself etc and Stewart has decided to take it one step further no doubt .

At worst he got a moderately harsh suspension. and missed 4 almost irrelevant games. Rounds 1-4.

Dave Taylor got IMO a harsh suspension and missed an origin.

I thought Adam Blair was a fraction unlucky to get 5 weeks.

If either of these 2 demanded an apology on grand final day we would laugh them.

Stewart is directing caused by the incident as a whole at David Gallop, who had little to do with it. The anger he carries is aimed at the wrong person, to let it ruin a great moment is stupid.

Not just Hasler mate, the whole club has traded off this "us versus the world" craptrap all your. But you would think that once you'd won and were getting your winner's medal you'd forget about that and just enjoy the moment. The phrase "time and place" comes to mind…

Gallop was vindicated in suspending Stewart for 4 games when the allegations came about. IMO, it would have looked embarrassing for the game rewarding a player who, at the time, was alleged to have got pissed out of his tree at a season launch and sexually assaulted somebody. The incident occured well over two years ago and why he is still holding a grudge against Gallop for it, is contrary to reason.

Then to have to audacity to ask for an 'apology' on stage when collecting his premiership ring and medal further defies belief. What does he have to apologise for? Trying his best to protect the game bought into disrepute by Stewart and his off-field antics? Has Stewart taken into account how much bad publicity the NRL received as a result of his off-field behaviour? Does he understand how to conduct himself when he's a high-profile player and he's the 'face' of the game? Clearly not, somebody needs to tell him to give up any puerile wish he may have of receiving an 'apology' from the very man who tried to protect the image of the game and gave him the honourable role of being the 'face' of the game, an honour many would embrace and dream of throughout their career.

Until this guy starts being accountable for his actions and doesn't look to blame others for his own wrongdoings, I will continue to have a very low opinion of him. He needs a psychologist of some sort, his attitude is terrible and hasn't showed any signs of changing.

They're chromosome challenged morons. If ever they do a re-make of Deliverance, these two peanuts will land feature roles. Hasler shouldn't escape criticism either, he's been happily making bullets for others to fire.

B Stewart in years to come will look back on last Sunday and think to himself…''it couldve been oh so much better for me"
Sucko snake....happiness comes from deep within, the world saw your stubbornness & petulance
A hollow premiership for the stewarts by the looks of it

as a wrestling fan, i'd compare these derilects to the Hardy Boyz

the hardy boys were one of the most successful tag teams of all time

are you sure brett asked for an apology on grandfinal day? glenn and brett might have told gallop that they are putting it behind them now

outside of the ring they are two of the biggest losers you would ever come across

Look at it this way …

1\. If it was Benji suspended for being drunk would we be up in arms and expecting an apology ? YES
2\. If it was you who had your reputation tarnished and dragged through the mud, would you still be angry about it ? YES
3\. If you were the only player in recent times the NRL banned when others have done similar thing, would you be angry still ? YES

End of the day, Brett has every right to still feel anger towards what is seen by some as unjust. I don't like Manly, but I think an apology was well and truly deserved months ago ...
