Whats in the game plan and what happens on the field are often 2 different things - i'm sure Sheens would have been saying the same things to Benji last season - if the forwards don't gain control and go forward i'm sure Benji is going to have Potter scratching his head as to how to eliminate Benji's poor last tackle options.

Give Benji room to pick and choose his runs/moments then the "trick shot" element will resolve itself to a certain extent.

The amount of times I screamed "TAKE THE REPEAT SET!" won't be missed though. Its time for Benji to fully mature, he is almost there.

Agreed - another reason why Sheens had to go - Benjis last play options were atrocious - the coach had a choice to take him away from the last play or to " bench " him - he did neither - i hope Potter has got the nuggets to choose one of these options when things start going off the rails again - and not just with Benji.

Fine in theory but given 90% of our grubbers end up making a dent in the advertising hoardings it probably doesn't matter anyway…

What is wrong with assigning Jacob Miller who is a natural kicker to take these kicks instead of Benji? The removal of the clearing/grubber kick burden would result in Bennji improving his general play.

Or we end up defending twenty metres from our own line as it hits a flyer from the opposition on the full and they run almost the length of the field

Practice makes perfect, plenty of teams manage repeat sets and maintain pressure. As opposed to our hail mary strategy which goes no where and put us under the pump straight away.

Not that we need to become the most conservative team in the comp, but knowing when to keep pressure vs chancing our arm is something we haven't had much success with.

In a revealing radio interview yesterday, Potter also said new recruit Braith Anasta will be considered at lock instead of halfback.

But I must of been listening to a different interview yesterday as Potter was non committal what position Anasta would play & said "he can play a halfback role, he can play a 5/8 role & he's not unaccustomed to playing lock either. I want to see how they scrub up in the pre season & who's going to be the best fit for the team".

Haha yeh read that in the paper at work yesterday…was somewhat chuffed

Benji just needs to learn to play the odds....someone kicking him up the rear when he's going for 100/1 shots might pull him into line- hope so
