Hi. I have been offline for a while, so I just noticed a post about the "Stripes Across My Heart" song. Love it or hate it, here are the composition details. Yes, John Swan did the vocals. It was recorded at Song Zu studio in Sydney. Les Gock did the music composition and I, David McClean, wrote the lyrics. I was a writer at George Patterson Advertising in Sydney and some of the senior management were club supporters. So, I was briefed to write a song. It was created because the club was about to move from Balmain. Thus, the 'new territory' line and the 'the spirit is alive' reference. Cheers.

Hi tennytigers.. As I recall, the lyrics are as follows:

Tigers roaming free across a brand new territory
You can see the hunger gleaming in their eyes
And it will make your blood run cold standing in a shadow of black and gold
This aint no dream, the spirit is alive

I'm a tiger
I'm a tiger
I'm the master of the field
I'm a tiger
I'm a tiger
And I'm scratching at your heels
I'm a tiger
I'm a tiger
Fearless, brave and smart
I've got courage in my blood and stripes across my heart

The spirit is alive
The spirit is alive
Keeping it strong so it wont die
Yeah the tiger spirit is alive

(chorus repeat)

Ha!! My memory must be fading.with age. I forgot the second verse entirely.

Anyway, here is second verse lyric for those who asked.

Tigers lay in wait for the prey to meet its fate
And the silence will be broken by it roar
In a flash it takes to flight moving like lightening to the plight
Until its holding victory in its claws
