It was Newcastle media who said Knights management had met with Tyran Smith, his manager, but he was looking for $200k to play for them. It was then added that he was rumoured to be meeting with Dragons and the Tigers next.

200k is most likely something we don't have. Not sure Dragons do either. If he's more realistic for next season we could definitely do worse than him!

200k for a player of his ability seems fair.

Id hard ball at 180k and try to use the young kids like Brooks, Moses and Tedesco not to mention Woods as an attraction over the other clubs in contention.

Would more likely be his kiwi team-mate Taupau who makes the difference.

200k is still a lot when we were already over the cap at one point. Who knows how much we're under or over now if Galloway leaving.

Seeing the rumour was started by comments made by the Newcastle paper's sports reporter there's a little more credibility than just a random Facebook person. Still only equal to a kent, ritchie or buzz, but still someone sort of in the know.

And, there sure is a difference between 'signings' and 're-signings'. I'd sure prefer a few fresh faces around the club to be announced soon. But yes Ava is a must, and Lovett on the cheapest contract possible is maybe ok as a backup backup player. Prefer Halatau over Lovett.
