Last night the Wigan Warriors ended a 12 year Premiership drought and handed St Helens their 4th Consecutive Grand Final loss with an easy 22-10 victory in front of over 72 000 at Old Trafford.
For new coach of Wigan Michael Maguire it was a Premiership in his first season but for departing St Helens coach Mick Potter he is the only Saints coach in recent years not to have won any silverware.
Former Wests Tigers hero Pat Richards who was recently crowned the Man of Steel succumbed to an ankle injury just before half time and his injury actually prevented a score blow out as Wigan went on to miss 3 conversions.
For incoming coach for 2011 Royce Simmons, he will have a huge task in not only keeping the Saints momentum going but getting them up psychology over the 4 Premiership losses but for the prestigious Challenge Cup as well.
Hopefully this afternoon will end in a trifecta of losses for the Saints in the NRL after losing in the AFL & ESL.
