Taken the 2!!!!!!

This was imbosolic tonight not taking the 2 on one or two occasions. Iknow hignsight Is good but that was just plain stupid from IC.

Right decision to go for the try when the opposition is down to twelve.
You can't win games with just penalty goals, unless you are Brisbane and you got the refs on your pocket.

Everyone is a genius when hindsight is involved. The first 2 I could cop, even though I detest penalty goals. The second, we were right going for the try. They just had a man binned, it would be pretty negative if we didn’t. Let’s say we did take the 2 and lost 18-4, you probably start the same thread crying out that we should have gone for the try. The argument is very interchangeable.

Yep , we had 4 chances

Took the first one , fair enough , second was too wide out

Would have taken the third and 4th if the game plays out the same

But the game changes doesn't it , so your right hindsight is 20/20

Taking the points on offer may have given us more control of the game during that period.

Yes 100% agreed on this….Strangely slowing down that game tonight would have advantages us more.

A lot of good an extra two points would have done us tonight? It appeared right throughout the game that the team believed that they had very limited ability to score at least one try against Penrith

We had them on the rack for the first 15 mins and came up with garbage plays ….
Then gave away dumb penalties ...

Penrith took the 2 when they could. I thought it was ok to take the first tap, but when Penrith were warned, we seemed to want to go again and possibly force a sin-binning. Should have taken the penalty then and been 4 up.

We were making decent yards and Penrith were giving away penalties, so we should have made them pay on the scoreboard. It seems in 2018 that teams are more willing to give up sinbins than 2 points, so if you come down and kick 2 every time, they tend to stop giving away the penalties so often.

Yes it is hindsight, just felt it went away from our regular strategy this year of taking the 2 on offer.

You should be using the opportunity to attack their line when they're a man down. We just weren't good enough tonight.

100%

When you are struggling to attack …bad balls from dummy half and really have no idea in the oppositions 20 yes take as many points on offer .....again game management at least one of those kicks should of been taken .
If your a team on top of its game yes go for the extra points but the Tigers ?

Taking th 2ndidnt lose us the game

No it didn't but as hobo said 'went against what we did early in the season's and we all know the results of early season.

we werent getting steamrolled in the ruck early in the season….we did last night, and results predictable

Penrith took the 2 when Twal was sent off, I thought we should have taken the points early as well. We had 2 other opportunities to go for it but went for the try instead.

The attack last week wasn't all that on fire either, not sure why last night would have been suddenly different.

Not that it would have mattered in the end, but I just don't think our attack is quite there yet to be consistent and should take points when they are offered.

Once Liddle's fitness is at a high enough level he will play bigger minute

That's when our attack will lose it's clunkiness

You can probably see Cleary's concerns , I think he would have preferred to start with Liddle but you use an extra interchange bringing him back on

With our luck with the HIA's and injuries , we 'd end up with no interchanges left with 15-20 minutes to go
