Tallyn Da Silva #270

The more I think about it , the less it makes sense to allow him to explore let alone release him before June 30 and for all this to have appeared to be sudden dramatically on the week of the cutoff.

I’ve come to a conclusion like a couple times other posters that some incident had occured. Now whether the club is at fault or tds I have no clue, but has to have been something more than him wanting out due to api

If that is the case , everyone can stop blaming the club for being clueless etc and letting go of juniors on this one
Probably had a go at Benji for not getting game time. Benji does'nt like anyone questioning him. So Benji has agreed for him to released now. If he did'nt TDS would still be here until end of his contract.

There's depth and there's waste of space.
Bateman - useless except for the opposition.
Klemmer - only interested in his paycheck
Galvout - yet to prove anything except he's a prick
Da Silva - unproven
Most were happy to see Klemmer and Bateman gone - shame re the way the season has fallen away since the Galvout affair started but that can't be laid at management's feet.
Yes, it would be nice to have seen some further signings but I'm hoping richo is right in stating they will wait for the right ones.
Yeah, i'm still waiting for powerball win.

I get people feeling disappointment with the season heading south yet again. I almost pulled the pin a couple of years ago.
Most knew we weren't going to make the 8 this year so letting past their used by date players, and the disenfranchised works for me. Like some, even though it isn't showing on the scoreboard, I think there is more spirit in the squad this year. Hopefully that will be the case
Milkey, you should have pulled the pin.
Don't worry about making the 8,its another spoon that the worry.

It's interesting, Da Silva wasn't prepared to compete with Koroisau for a starting role and has left for the Eels. Some are suggesting the club made the wrong decision due to Koroisau's age, but Da Silva's decision suggests he didn't agree with that narrative.
The narrative at this cub is that we are soft touch club. Everyone knows that and therefore contracts mean fk all. We should have kept TDS until end of 2026, as a back up for Api. We now have put all our eggs in a 34 year old hooker who battles more every game especially as we keep losing.

So we loose 2 young guns and the people benefitting from that is the Club they go to, the player, the player agent and the owners of WT who get money in the name of transfer fee.

The club and the team go to shits, who cares? The fans will still be here, the fans will still be contributing, the media will keep writing articles and we will develop the next generation to release them later.

We are a "Development club".. not for ourselves but for other Clubs.

Something is so seriously wrong here.

People think it's a Balmain vs Wests thing but na this is just people at the top looking out for their best interests. No one cares about this club actually improving. They want to stay in the headlines and make a name for themselves.

Benji might be the only one who actually cares, but he also represents the current players. They are looking for a shortcut to the top. Galvin wanted a shortcut to a Top 4 team. The players want to only play good for 20-30 minutes a game so that they can show other clubs how talented they are.

Stuff what happens to the team and to the club.
Agree. Mate, my passion / energy for the club is so low Im not sure I can get it back to 'better times'. Im worried a large percentage of the fan base has reached pretty much a 'dont care' stage. The Board and Management should be worried and yet the organisation seems to be going blissfully along calmly writing off season 2025. Somehow or other the fans need something really positive (signing wise) as a sugar fix because our real life here is pretty depressing.

We should wait for the Richo email wishing them good luck for making the finals as well.
Galvin probably, not so much TDS at Parra this year.

TDS is not a full time FG player yet as shown on Friday night, however the money offered is good for him. I would have preferred he stay this year and see out the year allowing us some depth for API rather than Hope playing but it is what it is now.

We do not stand up as a club and will continue to be cherry picked each year of any talent we have or may be developing.

Another year written off

What examples have you of money better spent elsewhere.
Terrell May, Jarome Luai, Latu Fainu, Fanua Pole, Samuela Fainu...

As I am not a psychic, I am unable to let you know where the TDS money will be spent.
But I can say with confidence that TDS is not worth 650k a year, not even close.

If we don't sign anyone between now and 2026 then I'll fall on my sword. Until then I think we let Benji and Richo do their thing and work on building a better squad with players who want to be here, without overpaying them to do so.
