You don't think it will be a Newcastle home game with all the fans up there

I live in Newcastle and only know a couple of knighrs fans.

You will be surprised at the number of people who follow Sydney clubs up here.

And most people who don't support them can't stand them because of the biased reporting up here.

Support for the tiger's is quite strong in this area

Mate I lived in Newcastle for 5 years. The reporting is insane! Just listen to Buderus on Fox - a more one eyed commentator I’ve never heard

You get sick of hearing it

I always change radio stations or television channels when local media start talking knights

But let's face it

It is their town and it's never going to change ao ignoring it is the best option

Does the name ‘Gary Harley ‘ send shivers up your spine?!!

The decision to play the game at Tamworth would have been made well before the current good form of both the knights and tigers.Ironically, they probably would have drawn more supporters than scully parks 11000 had they had the game at usual venues.
ive lived in the north west of the state for the past 20 years and its great for tamworth and country league.
country cynics always say that nsw stands for newcastle, sydney and wollongong.
its a generalisation, but there are heaps of traditional league supporters in the area.lots of saints and parra supporters.
ive got tickets and im excited.

Sure does

I think that it is more about establishing a base in Tamworth, similar to what the Panthers have done in Bathurst.
Hold training sessions build a partnership with the local teams and help develop their junior players and if there are any good prospects sign them.

Game was sold out and I read that there were only 10,000+ at the game. Really?

You’d think there are country grounds out there that could hold more than 10k

the ground has a capacity of 11000 and there were 10000 odd there but you couldnt swing a dead cat on the hill.
the lines for food and beer were forever but i havent been to a live game for a few years,so i wouldnt know what to expect.
you are closer to the action ,similar to leichhart in that matter.
there were certainly more tiger supporters there than knight supporters.
so was it a good move to play a game in tamworth- hard to say- the result wasnt great but it was a good experience for regional tiger supporters.
