NRL Match review committee didn't seem to think so…

Grade 2 Careless High Tackle...1 week with early plea...

Surprised by that !

Didn't he get 3-4 weeks for that hit on Maloney towards the end of last year?

Judiciary System seems a shambles sometimes.

I would have thought 3-4 at minimum. Probably didn't help with Bird coming out on twitter saying it's all good to him afterwards.

Last week the excuse on this board was that Moses had been niggling him - I am waiting for this week's excuse. Maybe it will be suggested that he was on AHX with speed?

Did he hit Moses high and late without the ball?

Apples and buses BBF…

In both cases both victims were well without the ball so both were attacking a player without the ball - strictly speaking. Or do we need a shot clock with bells and whistles to determine when a player no longer has possession of the ball?

Kosher and Halal CB

The judiciary system is a shambles ALWAYS.
Cannot see how Taupau got 4 weeks for last years hit on Maloney (which didn't seem to be as bad as the Bird one last night)- he has loading, yet gets off with 1 week. It is ####### ridiculous.
That is the advantage of playing for certain clubs you would think, it has to be. There is no other plausible explanation. Farcical yet again, the NRL never cease to amaze.

That's pure BS, Lawrence was involved in a tackle that only went wrong at the last minute. Taupau went in with a swinging arm to the jaw of a player no longer in possession of the football, with plenty of time to pull out.

To deem those equivalent is a mockery, it harkens back to when Bryce Gibbs got 3 weeks for making long-distance knee contact with Luke Burt, only for Billy Slater to lash out with his boot every other week.

grade 2 seems reasonable but how does that only equate to 1 week??

and surely he has priors. id have though thatd be 3 weeks with his record

We should sign Bob Cooper. Tapas tackle was a cheap shot. In his defence though, Bird was not layin flat on the ground u like the dog shot on Maloney

Not a great crowd at Brookvale 5K. Leichhardt doubled that.

Think everyone's had enough of bundy night footy(remember that was the catch cry when it first started) they should have booted it 2016

It makes a mockery of NRL's supposed concern re players suffering concussion and players' welfare. It gives a green light for assault on play-makers without the pill. Players are now limited to amount of concussions suffered so that penalty actually shortens careers of professional sportsmen.

Lucky he wasn't playing for us and did that - he would have got 10 weeks.

As someone said makes a big difference who you play for or what team you are doing it to.

Why can't the Sharks appeal the sentence?

I think the people who charged Tapau and the people who determine the penalty should sack themselves. It is a joke and makes the NRL management looks like a bunch of fools - which they are. You don't have to advertise that fact though.

Can someone explain to me how the points system works for the judiciary? Knowing he would of had carry over and having been suspended previously on similar offense last year do people always get reduced bans when they commit same offense again?!?!

Yep it's all a conspiracy…

What are your thoughts on his penalty CB? Think its fair when all is considered?
Its not a conspiracy but it is very on the nose in many people's opinion. The whole thing is pretty suss.
