OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

He’s got a good sleight of hand, inch perfect pass, a fair turn of speed and deceptive power. I’ve been watching the footage of him bending huge props over without too much of a run up on returns.

He’ll put a lot of respect back into our line with his strike and I think he’s going to create opportunities for everyone around him. That’s what fast and focused players do.

We haven’t had his class of player in our centres for a long time.

I love Adam, but he’s a very different style of player.

May-coming back from injury and drama, the sky’s the limit for him. So yep, Im pretty confident about him and what he will bring. Once he gets his claws into it, I think he could have the same impact on our side as his brother.

A fully amped up Taylan surrounded by our current crew will “complete” our backline and be entitled to the description of being “lethal.”

My thoughts anyway. It’s great to have him. Massive.
"lethal" indeed

Sometimes I think Star’s game is being held back through lack of opportunities.

At times, he’s looked the most likely even if he’s not as glamorous as some of our other players.

I think he would benefit from all of the many and varied additional options May would provide him with in attack.

He’d learn a lot and continue to grow.

He seems like one of these players who needs this constant challenge to maintain his impressive progress.

And a bit more confidence in the d.

And Star hasn’t re-signed beyond season 26 despite what I think have been stoic attempts.

The more potent the backline is, the greater his prospects of staying are. Well it can’t hurt.

I’d like to think he would give us the benefit because we’ve shown a lot of belief and faith in him.

I think he’s one of those players that has flourished and responded under Benji and co this year, which is pretty good.

If only everyone else could climb aboard. May would help fill the bus I think!

IMO it would be just as big a concern as TDS if we can't extend Star. He's popular with the Luai, May clique & been one of our best so far this season.

Adel on the WT Life podcast had mail a few weeks ago that he has due to extend so am hoping there is only a slight delay dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

Probably more of a concern than Api v TDS in some ways.

I know for a fact that panel members such as @Tucker are engaged in a quiet watching brief on the Star situation but are reluctant to go public with their knowledge until they can assemble more known facts.

Probably to avoid yet another panic!

You want him to come straight into NRL without playing a KOE game?

😅😅😅
It’s not happening but I’d say he’d handle it.

The alternative seems to be yet more losses.

When things are going miserably, you should change things up.

lol …is he going to move the needle either way on winning/losing the game …at least the next month or so?

They lose games because there are 2-3 players who aren’t up to it each week … the player that May would replace isn’t one of those players …

Well we won’t know if he can move the needle unless he actually gets a go.

Otherwise we are pretty much resigned to recycling players who are invariably underperforming.

I’ve read some of the arguments here that he’s not ready, he won’t be ready for weeks and all that.

But in my view, we don’t have the luxury of setting him on the ground and prodding him with a stick until someone says he might be ready to play first grade in 3 weeks.

Hes into reserves because he’s shown he’s fit enough. Hes more than ready to go.

And it’s surprising to me that people are still toasting Benji coaching prowess when the 2025 campaign seems done and dusted and prayers are being said that we avoid the spoon.

I don’t need to race Gout Gout to know I won’t be able to beat him..

Give him a few weeks in Reggie’s first and see how he looks….

Hate to break this to you, but either way they aren’t making the 8 this year

A tad unfair that analogy!

But I’m ready to chuck in everything we have to get some kind of result this season.

The more delusional would have us believe that our position on the ladder and our recent collapse is some kind of grand achievement and we shouldn’t disturb it.

“We got the spoon again, but it’s ok because we have a better side and won more games.”

Doesn’t cut it for mine.

My expectations are a lot higher.

Until May takes up his place in fg we won’t know, but I’d rather know than watch another episode of this weeks excuse for failure.

Don’t believe the hype and spin Tom, something has to give.

There’s a point where unrealistic expectations start to drift into wishful thinking, and can create a real disconnect from how things actually work... Delusion...

Like May walking up to start his first game in 2 years at centre in the NRL with two weeks of training under his belt and no match fitness.... Delusion..

May is playing reserves, if he wasn’t fit and ready he wouldn’t be there.

Hes a seasoned international, well across his own capabilities and limits.

I’d rather he was plying his craft in first grade than watching poor Heath get pulverised this weekend.

And happy to use an interchange to cover.

The club that is sending us on an express route to yet another spoon has made its (poor) decision anyway.

How long we are prepared to waste his talents is anyone’s guess.

If we were winning, I could understand the caution.

Things are not ok, we need to embrace that and make changes now.
