How's this for our Canterbury Cup side from players in our squads:

1. Kepaoa
2. Fitzgibbon
3. Hoffman
4. Kei
5. Roberts-Davis
6. Tannous
7. Madden
8. Seyfarth
9. Simpkins
10. Packer
11. Bradley
12. Tuilagi  not surprised if this guy is in the top grade pretty soon
13. Garner
14. MCK
15. Rodwell
16. Dillon
17. I. Fuatimau
18. C. Fuatimau
19. Kautoga
20. Stapleton
21. Tuifua  man tank ..
22. Rogers-Smith
23. O’Kane
24. Gebbie
25. Tumeth

If only they were eligable, they would trouble the top side in the backs.

Its a massive step up to NRL which has only been made harder by the suspension of lower grades due to covid in 2020.They will need time and patience and i hope they get it and are not thrown in too early

I don’t think that’s very well understood on here. Back in the days of U20’s only about 15% of players were making the leap to regular NRL. It’s a huge jump in class, we are taking a bigger gamble than people realise with our youth policy.

You are right but i believe it is still the best policy for the club with the highest chance of success

I agree but I’m going in without high expectations this year. 2022 I will be expecting the club to have success or otherwise put the broom through the joint.

We've tried the broom through the football dept, we need a snow plow up higher.

Why ? Give it a rest ! Next to one agrees with you . You clearly hate the bloke . Of all the people on here you’re the one person I have zero time for . Rarely anything you say is objective . At what point are you going to give the club / Pascoe some credit ? I know you can’t see this because you always block anyone who calls you out on your crap . Which it is crap .

Boo! When they get results.

Blame Cleary for that . He was a snake oil Salesman , and Pascoe fell for it. He made his apparent close mate look like a right mug. Which Pascoe did a pretty good job of that himself with the Farah debacle. If he wasn’t so good at running a football business he would have been fired . But the club makes money , despite all the bad press from the last 5 -10 years. Plus we were crap and the whole NRL knew it . From the juniors to NRL , to the football department , to training facilities, to junior coaching , to simply liaising with Balmain and Wests juniors .
As of the offseason next year , we will finally be ? competing on a level playing field .
We have clear pathways which Madge and Hartigan set up. We are signing the best juniors around , the coaching at junior level is improving and so is the communication from Madge to the bottom.
The only thing the club doesn’t do , is win in NRL enough to play 1-2 extra weeks of footy every year . And what’s the point of that ?

Whats the point of making the semis? Lol, you got me!!

And making up the numbers !!!!! ????? It’s a waste of time . Fools gold ! I would have loved it sure . But it’s empty calories . A Coca Cola or Mars bar . Whatever ... go post in the magpies thread ..

There's a magpies thread?

Tamou is also a much better defender than Aloiai.

To be perfectly fair, Josh was always capable of pulling off the odd "grass cutter".

I think even Pascoe understands that his fancy revenue and membership graphs do not make members and fans happy, they just want a football team that shows up, tries really hard and occasionally makes the finals. That’s what I’m judging him on and he ain’t going that good.

Without hindsight,
The 2021 (on paper) is maybe 5-10% better than what we we’re looking at this time last year....with the 2020 team.
(Off paper,if that’s a thing) the Positives are we have much more, wiggle room with player contracts and the “potentials” are spread throughout the top 30.
If only 1 or 2 “potentials’ step up as Lucy did in 2020 we will go beyond the 5-10% improvement.

Ps. Hope people get my drift as I’ve had a few beers watching the cricket.
If so....please some that up better than me.

Yeah, the beers worked. I'm confident especially with the forward pack, the backs should find it easier with extra meters gained. The backs have a huge incentive this year ,perform or your out.

Explain more please ......lol

When I played footy it generally meant a solid legs tackle , in today’s game it’s probably useless with the wrestle

Ohhh, as simple as that? There are other meanings to the term "cutting a mate's grass" but the Sea Eagles would never sign a flawed character like that, would they?

I assumed since it’s a footy forum it would be that but now that I’ve read the context properly it could be the other one ?
