Team for Foundation Cup

also, Mullaney consistently scored multiple runaway tries in each match. Think of a mix between slater and hodgson.
The guy is a freak!

I agree. I think the Fonz likes him as well. How old was Karmichael Hunt when he debuted? I think he was **alot** younger than Jake.

I think Jake will play 1st grade in 2010 sooner than what many people think. :righton:

We'll be lucky to hang on to him now we have Tuqiri.

Disagree. Despite the signing of Lote, Mullaney is highly regarded by people high up at the Tigers and they won't let him go without a fight, and I doubt Mullaney wants to leave anyway.

Just like your match reports you have no idea what is going on. We will be lucky to hold onto him come years end. Although he will be sitting on the bench in the Foundation Cup barring injury in the Toyota Cup game, as Sheens is finally starting to take note of his talent. But the sharks are circling his signature as he is not contracted past this year, and with the signing of Tuqiri (and not even the genius we have running recruitment and retention would sign a winger for $400,000 per year) to play fullback, where do you think he will play? State Cup? He's far too good for that.

A bit harsh mate. Willow's match reports are tops.

He's bitter because I don't agree with him. Not sure what my match reports have to do with this but I have idea of what is going on, which is more than I can say for Alwaysownyou. The Sharks are circling you say…Big deal. Mullaney is in the clubs future plans and they'll look to lock him later this year.

I actually said the sharks are circling, not the Sharks. There is more than one team that have already made formal approaches to the kid.

Ah yes, well he's a talent so that's understandable. At the end of the day though he's with the Tigers and despite "the sharks circling", it's my opinion that he'll remain a Tiger given the wraps the staff have on him.

So, if you were a 19 year old, who had just had a stellar year at fullback, who was only given a one year extension after the Grand Final in which you nearly single handedly won for your team on one leg for a lot of it, and was looking to break into the top squad either this year or next, and then you read in the paper that the Recruitment Department went out and signed a 30 year old to play your position for the next 3 years and pay him $400,000 a year for the privilege, that you would actually WANT to re-sign with the club?

Considering the way they treated you and how long it took for them to actually sign you when you were carving up opposition and scoring tries at will? To only action a contract AFTER your Grand Final performance?

Mate, the Tigers would have to offer me around $80,000 for the next 3 years with performance bonuses built in to keep me if they treated me that poorly.

Hence another flaw of the NYC programme.

Having to pay Flegg players higher wages to keep them and put them on top tier contracts when they are not top grade players yet.

Exactly why it should be an Under 23's comp, not an Under 20's comp.

The old argument you can't keep everyone doesn't exist in this case IMO.

Though I am happy that the club signed a player of Lote's standing. Fullback was a spot that was well covered, the club didn't really have to go out and recruit. Gallant, Moltzen, Mullaney could of filled that role for years to come. There are also a few quality junior fullbacks coming through.

I feel that Mullaney will be stamped the same way Gallant was. All heart & talented but to small. Will be led on Sheens & Co for a couple of years, offered minimal wages and then shown the door when doesn't accept to play for peanuts.

Mullaney is a kid! I don't think it's wise for them to jump from club to club. If the next season ends and he hasn't progressed…. he could change his tune and look elsewhere. It's all guesswork here and I don't see why certain users are getting sooooo heated over something so trivial...

He's 20 in May. He's not 16 or 17.

is this being shown on fox or anything?

Unfortunately not. For those who can't make it, I'll type up a match report to give an indication of how the team went.

Why is this game being played on SUNDAY at 6.00 pm? IS there a public holiday on the MONDAY that i dont know about.?

Todd Payton being out should allow the younger forwards to spend a fraction more time on the field each. - Maybe a blessing isn disguise
