Team V Parra

Flanagan did his knee 5 minutes into last weeks BRET game.

I think it is safe to assume Skandalis and his 5m hitups will be there

7.625m last game…

Yep.

Ellis' average was 7.533

The Todd's 6.363

Heighno 6.928

Fulton 7.076

Gibbs 8.000

Skando is there to do a job for the coach. The criticism of the big fella is about as unwarranted as is possible. Does anyone really think he's there because he's spent all season begging Sheens to play him?

What does he have to do, play 23 minutes, score 4 tries, set-up 8 linebreaks, make 65 tackles?

Is that what he's there for?

I don't blame Skando for being picked. Although I would have thought the Manly game would have proved once and for all to Sheens that he is no longer of the required standard.

It just seems like another year of holding back younger, superior props. But that is Sheens' M.O ala Fitzhenry's return

In all seriousness, the future can get bent. I'm more concerned about now than next year. Shirnack, Moors etc can wait if Sheens wants Skando there.

I have no doubt that Skando is there for exactly what Geo said, to steady the ship where needed and his influence on Fifita etc. You know what you'll get from Skando, 100% every time.

The differnce is, no one would put Fitzy in to steady the ship. Sink it maybe…

Just like the future could get bent last year with his selection. That did us the world of good obviously

100% of half the player is not a good thing.

We won't agree on this. I hope he plays well but it doesn't change my opinion of the selection

Not get dominated in almost every hit up would be a good start.

I love Skandalis as much as anyone but it's 2010 and we have younger, better, hungrier, more aggressive options who should be used.

Yeah, I've read all that crap. I think the term "dominated" is over-used.

I haven't agreed with Sheens' selection policies all the time (JMo), but for the most part he's been prettty good at bringing young blokes through. If he thinks Shirnack, Moors and the others mentioned don't strengthen the squad at the moment but Skando does, so be it.

You might think its "crap," that's your opinion (which you're entitled to).

But watch the game and honestly tell me that Skandalis doesn't get dominated with ball in hand, and falls as soon as he hits the line? He is also often slow to cover in defence, especially around the ruck.

I'm not bagging him, he will do a job and is a no fuss option that will probably not make any major mistakes, but in my opinion we have better options for impact off the bench.

Just how I see it.

Yeah its because Skandalis is from Campbelltown, that's is the reason. :unamused:

It's been eleven years and counting and some of you still can't move on. Sad.
