Tedesco Question

Teddy had two choices, the easy one was to stay in a place where you comfortable in your surroundings and had a lot of friends. The hard one was to up and leave and head off to another club. So with this in mind Iam not sure all was well with Teddy and the Tigers. Okay their was obviously the money factor, but I still think their was a problem somewhere that pushed him out the door. Now the problem might have been his problem or the clubs problem, we will probably never know

Could it have been that younger or similar aged players such as Brooks were signed when Wests Tigers had more money available and therefore had a similar contract to Tedesco's last contract but unfortunately Wests Tigers in their current financial state could only marginally improve?

Its hard to knock back that much money.

Tigers offered him $500k a year which I think is slightly overs ATM…..not that he's not talented or has the potential but this is all about the first 4-5 games this year so $500k a year is a great offer to a 21 year old.

Raiders offer $800k a year, thats $300k a year more than the tigers offer....you just can't match that.

Players like Tedescoe don't come around often but if I was the Tigers, I'd be looking at Reese Robinson or Jarrod Croker....raiders will need to drop players and I think both of those guys would help the Tigers.

The Tigers never offered 500k..think I have said that a thousand times now…If they had offered 350k he would have stayed but they didn't.
I know you are all emotional about it all but at least try and get close to the facts.

How much more can we dissect this? Is there an answer to the 'Tedesco Question?' Endless speculation based on questionable figures and assumptions will not give us an 'answer'.
The facts are:
The Canberra Raiders offered a higher contract price.
Tedesco sought counsel from Benji Marshall, Braith Anasta and Tim Moltzen.
Tedesco values the coaching of Ricky Stuart.

The Answer is: Ta daaa! - James Tedesco will play for the Canberra Raiders next year.

The facts could also be that :

Canberra offered **almost double** what Wests Tigers did.

Tedesco sought counsel from people who knew **all the facts** including team mates.

Ricky Stuart managed to convince Parramatta and Canberra management that his the man for the job…It wouldn't be a difficult task to convince a 21 year old.

Supercoach makes some fair points. There was an obvious dis connect between Tedesco/Ayoub and the Tigers. We could not come anywhere near Canberra and it was a pretty easy decision for him

However whatever happened I could not portray a guy with 20 games to his name as the poor victim in all this at the hands of the evil Tigers a club that nurtured him for 8 years.

Im cool with his call to go to Raiders. Less so with his comments/conduct since. I do not think James could be accused to being the "most smartest" Irvine

Yeah Irvine, I've got no problem with any of that. I've said for a long time now that we should let JT take his time and make his decision, effectively get off his back. He may have consulted Harry the psychic octopus for all I know or care. He may or may not owe the Tigers a debt of gratitude for his development. He may or may not have dumped on his Tigers team mates. He will be earning sums I can't even imagine.

He's made his decision. He has to live with it. Good on him and good luck to him.

I don't like the way he's represented himself and been represented by others in the media, but again he has to live with it. I don't. I'm just a spectator. The point I made is simple. I don't know all the facts, only a few that have been reliably reported, including by Tedesco himself. I don't claim to have any secret inside info. The big fact is that he is going to Canberra. He has moved on. What I tried to imply is, so should we.

How did they nurture him for 8 years…....Please explain ?

An article written by Josh Masourd in 2012 states "James couldn't make the junior rep squad for Wests when he was 14 "

Mayer puts out his usual BS and all the clowns believe it.

Asked and answered your own question Irvine! Couldn't make a rep side at 14,and look at him now… Nothing to do with the club obviously ... All Teddy!

Wouldn't be surprised if he still held a grudge about not making the Under 14s given some of his "buddies" comments on here.

The benefit of an ubiased opinion

There are a lot a of recently registered users defending Tedesco by insinuating there is more to the story than what is in the public domain. That's fine, but come out and say exactly what that is, otherwise it's a pretty flimsy defence.

At this point Tedesco's behaviour appears pretty objectionable post signing with Canberra. You can't imply this behaviour is excused for some reason and expect us to accept that without fleshing out what that particular reason is. If you don't_care_ whether we accept his behaviour is justified or not (I expect that will be your next response as it typically is) I can't fathom why you are bothering to register on these forums.

Coming on and posting, or at least implying, "Tedesco is being a wanker because the Tigers have stuffed him around in the past" adds precisely nothing to the discussion.

Tedesco has not been playing for some weeks now and may have to prove his fitness in State Cup just like Sironen and a number of other players have. What I am waiting to know is whether Rowe retains his spot in first grade next week. It seems hypocritical that if all those willing to bucket Tedesco over the past few weeks become upset if Rowe or Simona etc take the first grade fullback spot.

Saw this posted in Raiders Greenhouse forum they are seriously peed off about not being able to attract more big names this is what was said about Teddy. Anyone know if he still has time to change his mind?

Looking back, its any wonder we signed Tedesco. Honestly, what was he thinking leaving Brooks and Farah to come and play with Buttriss and Campese? Brooks-Tedesco combination had the potential to be amazing.

Tigers must have done something to piss him off.

He's still got a couple of days to reconsider
