Tedesco Thread || He's staying!

I would rather invest in Abou Sleiman or try to convince Kevin Locke that WT is a better option than England

In my time following the game, when it reaches this point the player just about always leaves the club. It's our last desperate attempt to get him to accept our offer before it's gone.

That is going to help team morale - NOT!.

He should make a decision whether he sits out the rest of this season. He can now certainly afford to.

I have been told he was informing team mates.

Watch me be one of those guys who posts inside info that turns out to be wrong and look like a muppet though

if true I'm gutted as a WT supporter…I believe the WT have offered Teddy an above market deal, yet the desperate Raiders have come in with massive overs...**My advice to Teddy...look at the big picture mate and the grass is not always greener on the other side, often its astro turf!...**

I know this is a free market...but honestly if Teddy were to be independently assessed what his true worth is in the NRL..**.he would not be valued anywhere near $500k per season** which is what we offered him..he is a $350-$400k per season player based on what he has shown..I hope his Manager, family and Teddy think about this...he should question why the Raiders and Sticky are offering him so much....then he will find true answers...if he goes...I'd negotiate an early release and the Raiders can have him before June 30...

This is Crazy… Who offers a Fullback that has only played 25 Games $800k???

A basket case club with a basket case coach that can only attract decent talent by paying way overs for them.

Imagine the team they'd have if their stars stayed…. Dugan at the back, Carney and Milford in the halves, Ferguson out wide.

A truck load of loyalty goes out the window for a extra 300g a season. Mayer has done the right thing, this circus has gone on for way to long. Of course I would like him to stay, but not if it throws our finances into turmoil and restricts us from any potential signings for a few years. The pie has to be distributed among your whole roster in a fair way or you end up with a lot of unhappy troopers, obviously some players get a bigger slice than others, but the last thing you want is a unhappy roster.

Agreed. And I'm glad it's now forcing the issue. It's gone on long enough.

Time to move on, plenty of no1 options on our books, okay not as classy as Teddy but a lot more durable.A good club is all about a strong playing roster, not one player.

The NRL has gone crazy when 500g a season cant secure a kid who has played 25 games or so in the top grade.Inglis must be worth two million a season

If the article is true we should all know by tonight what our gun fullback will be doing.

It looks like this ex "gun" fullback won't be putting a financial gun to Wests Tigers heads.

I'm really looking forward to hearing Teddy's thoughts on all this. A lot of things have been said and i suspect a lot of it is true in regards to why he has accepted the Raiders offer. It's disappointing that he's seen it this way and taken the money (or so it appears the reason why)., Money won't bring him success personally,

For WT's i'm disappointed too. So too for the players. He had no reason to need to leave from a footballing perspective. Our club did all it could and that should be remembered here. Anyways! We move on now. What's done is done and i hope Teddy finishes off the year well.

Wouldn't mind Abou Sleiman given a crack. But I don't rate Locke at all.

**Tigers know the drill**

Wests Tigers are further away from re-signing James Tedesco following last week's cheap publicity stunt where the fullback and Penrith winger Josh Mansour were 'captured' by a newspaper photographer about to board a plane for talks with Canberra. It was an old tactic from his manager, meant to place a bit more heat on the Tigers. But those at Concord are a wake-up. They won't go anywhere near Tedesco's $600,000-a-year asking price, especially for an injury-prone fullback with just 24 NRL games to his name. T**he days of the Tigers paying 'overs' for players are just that – over.** –thank you Mayer!!

I like the take it or leave approach.

Not doubting he is a good footballer, but 800K for a person who played about 20 FG games is a lot of coin.

For me he needs a season or so without any major injuries before I would start talking those dollars.

I think he should finish the year in NSW Cup…

Its not fair on the Sponsors who invest big dollar into the club to relegate talent… You always play your Top Squad if fit, playing well and available!
