Great to see the tigers officials have come up with another stupid decision to let another one of our great stars leave the club(how dumb are these guys, really!) can this stupidity carry on, how about we sack these guys for their stupidity. Early on in the year maybe round two or three there were FOURTEEN , YES, FOURTEEN ex tiger players playing first grade in the NRL with other clubs , what disgraceful decisions these guys make. And I am really getting jack of it. Surely with so many up and coming "unknowns" we can't be anywhere near the salary cap. Are the guys that look after the signings lining their own pockets!!!

You mention about 14 ex Tigers players playing for others

Was it Bennett who mentioned you should turnover approximately 20% of your playing personnel each season ??

What do you propose the club should have done? Give him 800k? Ridiculous thread.

None of those fourteen players would crack our current 17 anyway, bar maybe Fifita and Tedesco, if we're counting him.

Just look at all those ex-Tigers running around would you. Ayshford, Gibbs, Harrison, Morris Groat, Lote, Marshall, Ryan, Heigno. How in the hell did we let so much talent go.

THERES GOTTA BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS!!!
 
Pretty stupid rant mate to be honest.
Ted doesnt deserve what the raiders payed and I am glad the club stood their ground.

We didnt turn our back on him, the club has brought him along and through the juniors taught him to play whilst the seniors have been very patient with his extended injuries pumping lots of money into getting him back on the park.

He repayed this by running out on us and chasing the dollar. Simple as that.

Didn't turn our back on him ? We initially offered him Less than what he is on NOW if that is not a clear signal of turning your back on someone I don't know what is.

Then a brain wave of an idea.
We will tell him we need to offload players to buy some time so we can resign his mates…he wont leave his mates...I am sure he will stay for half the money he can get elsewhere once his mates get signed.

Maybe Tedesco doesn't deserve what Raiders paid but he doesn't deserve to be insulted with an offer for less than what he is on this year.

Ohh Hi Benny lets upgrade your nephews contract...400k OK ? No problems mate

Well if that's true about Moses getting $400k, that concerns me Irvine. But maybe was there something in their already agreed in a prior agreement with being promoted to playing state cup? Maybe Mayer had no control over it?

At the end of the day, I agree Ted at least deserves the same as Moses. Ted is at least a proven player.

With the 2015 shortfall, I'm assuming though that the tigers may have tried to backload it to make up for it? If so, I can't really see a big problem with that?

Signing his mates is also smart tactics…I don't begrudge Mayer for that and his mates obviously valued playing for the tigers more than ted since they signed immediately without fuss.

I think Mayer still has a lot of fixing to do with humphreys disasterous work with our cap and it's probably causing a lot of problems...

At the end of it, it sounds like the Tigers made a good offer. I hope at the end ted was grateful for their efforts. After all, he is only **one** of many talent kids in the squad that deserve to be paid well... Not to mention the chunk Robbie must take up.
 
Robbie doesn't take up too big of a chunk of the readies, he could have left for more $$$ but is loyal to our cause in the fight of good versus evil!.

Better yet, let's stash the cash so we can resign one junior on top dollar and let go of other promising juniors. Teddy's made his bed, and while I don't disagree with him chasing the money, he cannot say with a straight face that he wasn't offered what he's worth if what is purported to be the offer is floating around on this forum given his time on the pitch and the time spent off it. I think it was quite generous.

There's 25 players in a squad Irvine, but don't let that fact get in the way of a Potter and Mayer bashing session you goose… :unamused:
