Tedesco's neck NOT broken

for Alex Mc Kinnon sake wish him a healthy and speedy recovery.
as long as he is able to make a full recovery, that's all I would like to see.
his welfare and long term capabilities are far more important than playing footy.

Wasn't totally the Titans' fault, McKinnon fell awkwardly and seemed himself to try and bend his head around, ended up making it worse. The tackle wasn't a great one but they weren't driving him into the turf.

It was the Storm actually.

Seems nobody can get this story correct.

Well wasn't totally the Titans' fault either then, hey? My bad.

I for the life of me can't understand why he bent his own neck over. Lucky to not be crippled.

I hope he will be ok with no lasting ill effects, still not out of the woods yet though, still the possibility of spinal shock, cord compression and swelling. Fingers x'ed for the young fella.

I reckon because he thought he had better roll with the tackle. The point is he shouldn't have been in that position. He shouldn't have had to make that type of decision, right or wrong.

Nearly every game this type of tackle occurs and commentators make remarks about one day someone is going to be hurt.

That day arrived unfortunately.

Oh man really???

If u feel yourself being lifted from the crutch the normal human reaction is exactly what Alex did.

Im trying so hard to relax over this stupidity but i cant believe how many idiots are blaming Alex.

Bottom line is, if the hand doesnt go between his legs in a driving (somewhat mild, but still driving) action, he doesnt INSTINCTIVELY duck his head.

Exactly what I said earlier in the thread. It's human instinct to protect the head. People see the 0.1 seconds that he had to decide whether land on his neck or head and blame the kid for the option.

99/100 people would do the same. Those people blaming him need someone to whack a cricket ball into their nuts to see how fast their reflexes are. Morons.

Hey im not blaming him at all. I just haven't seen that reaction b4 it's been 20 years since i was last speared into the ground.

Its the Melbourne grubs to blame here. Thought the refs missed one against us last week.

I don't think anybody is suggesting it's McKinnon's fault that he got hurt. Sure the Melbourne players should not have lifted him, but there is a dangerous throw in almost every game of footy and 99% are accidents.

This is the worst possible outcome of defender mistake and attacker reaction. I think what people are reacting to is the strange way McKinnon appears to react to the tackle motion. It just looks odd the way he bends himself, not his fault.
