Temu is the worst!

Just had another go at buying on Temu after giving them a miss when they wanted me to spend more money on my first attempt some time ago.

Just tried again a short time ago to buy the same sort of thing (baseball cap hanger clips) and once again when I went to the check out found that I was still a few dollars short.

Ended up ordering 3 lots of 12 clips for $15.84 with free delivery using PayPal. Haven't got a real lot to lose and have no worries using PayPal.
 
My two on-line buying rules:
(1) Wherever possible, if I don't think it will last many many years I won't buy it, including things likely to perish or things that are intentionally disposable

(2) If something is offered for a crazy low price you are either being scammed or someone else is being exploited.

Temu violates both those rules on a regular basis so I don't ever use it. Also being Chinese owned and operated I shudder to think what kinds of Australian HR and trade laws they would be violating.

they try to make out like they are US but I’m pretty sure they are China!!!
 
A lot of the stuff on temu and ali is cheap because it is created from stolen intellectual property. Patents, contracts etc... meaningless to a lot of these factories that pump out disposable crap non stop.

I was buying from aliexpress for a while but have slowed down now because of this.

I’m terrible with plants but, but always been keen to give bonsai ago, always been into martial arts, samurai, Bruce Lee, etc. During my illness Uncle BF bought me a bonsai for xmas, as in, you need to live a long time to care for a bonsai kind of thing. Well I am still alive and that bonsai is dead and so are a few others, but now I’m really getting it and have about 20 at various stages. It’s kool, I treat some real mean to get a desired result and if they live they look really kool.
I use to grow bonsai of another nature so I guess I was just practicing back then. 😎

I broke two main branches today, well I think we can call them trunks, of an azalea I’ve been working on for 18mths. Has a great exposed root system I’ve been working, it has flowered but it was time for the first real big trim and shape and I fked it.
I patched it up and stuck it in a corner and we will just leave that and hope she doesn’t die.

Replanted a 6yo port Jackson fig into a bonsai pot today. It looks like an ugly boab tree, but with the hanging roots, and its roots cling onto a rock. Now that 6 year success easily makes up for the broken azalea and you never know broken bonsai can turn out really kool.

I bought a satin durag from them that arrived split.
never again. Nah all jokes aside they're good for
nick-nack, around the home stuff when you're not
worried about turnaround times; like plastic meal
prep containers or obscure things you can find cheap
on there but pay x5 over here for. It's kitsch, but okay
 
With companies life Temu, YOU are the product. They sell cheap crap at discount prices because they're mining your data and selling it to the highest bidder

I can’t like that post Ink. I think it’s obvious why.
I read that story to Mrs BF yesterday and we discussed what I call “survival of the smartest”. Now that poor girl must have two of the dumbest fwit parents alive, and it’s a shame for her but unless someone teaches that girl to use her grey matter she is probably gunna lead a short painful life due to her genes.
They had a fire pit in their backyard, (like and unfenced pool to kids, calling them to stick a hand in), and they had Temu clothing on. Now I have never read a single Temu label, but I can tell you when I told Mrs BF there was a fire pit, a Temu jumper and a little girl involved, she gasp and said what idiot let’s their kids wear a Temu jumper near a fire? 🤷‍♂️
Sure enough if the rules say Temu should have a “Stupidity Label” then they should have had it.
But how long is the appropriate time to wait before we call the parents out as incompetent idiots, bcoz I’m ready now.
