OFFICIAL Terrell May #296

Laurie Daley commented that he observed a Josh King effort in their magic round game, he might want to watch Terrell May in the 21st Minute of the South game, he chases after every break, and his hit up in the 48th minute and offload, King hasn't got that.

I didn’t see the Raiders or Sharks going in with that same mental attitude in the game before or after …and they showed that the Storm may not be the team they used to be

Having said all that The thing about May that I am annoyed with is that Stefano beat him out for the position in the extended bench ..that should never have happened but I suspect Bellamy has had some influence over Daley there

It’s worthwhile to go back and watch that game and focus on what Stefano does and what Terrell does. If there was a stat for post contact metres conceded per player Terrell would win it hands down.
I didn’t recall him having a great game watching live but watching it closely it was bad.
To see if it was a one off, I went back and watched the Broncos game, watching Haas as well in particular, the Sharks game watching AFB as well as the Bulldogs round 4 game vs the Sharks where they were missing a stack of players.
If you take the orange black and white glasses off you can see for yourself what Laurie Daley is highlighting.

On the Storm game, Terrell recently came out and said he did a 3 day fast prior to it. Big no no; would definitely explain why his energy and physicality was down. I’ve done a couple in the past and whilst you start feeling great after about 2 days in you feel absolutely shit once you start eating again.
(Save it for the bye rounds please Terrell!).

I cringe, whilst I appreciate getting that exposure to the team and there is some humorous scenes a lot of it seems forced onto the players and even coaches.

Saying he doesn’t “suit his coaching style” is pretty poor logic to me. Daley is basically saying he only knows one way to coach and is unadaptable. Two things you don’t want in a rep coach. Any coach really, I’m looking at you Madge.
Also what if the players that don’t suit his style are the best 17 players in the league or the one player he publicly mentioned becomes the best player ever? Is he going to say to Joey or JT you don’t suit my style I’m going with Jarrod Mullen?
It shows to me he is either not that smart or a puppet. And I don’t mean for not picking May, that’s his choice as coach, but to publicly come out and say he can’t coach a particular style of player, says to me that he is not an experienced enough coach to be in the top coaching position in the state.
And also, how’s his form saying he even has a “coaching style”? Who’s he coached, how many GF’s has he made, what’s his win percentage?
Seriously Loz, I absolutely loved your work as a Blue.
His long ball/short ball combo with Stick was some of the silkiest football passing plays you see. But I have never seen or heard anything from him that says rep coach and his last couple of weeks is proving it.

I can sorta get the decision to go with Moses. He does have a much better kicking game than Luai. But the May omission is telling. It's either plain stupidity or as others have alluded to, direct bias against anyone wearing the Tigers colours.
 
Both King and Utoikamanu have Ciraldo and Bellamy as coaches and strong player rosters. Utoikamanu moved to Melbourne to improve his rep chances and to win a premiership. How would it look if the player who replaced him at WTs was selected ahead of him for NSW SOO? Even more so if Bellamy is the advisor! How would it look for Robinson who moved him on only to learn he was selected in NSW SOO the following year. I believe it is a credit to May and Marshall that he was even in contention.
 
So many other players defence they could and should be picking apart in all seriousness it's pathetic that it has resorted to publically looking for a negative against a player, who to date has had a cracking season, to justify his omission.
NRL journalism continues to sink to lowest of lows. I reckon they should all take the Bennett approach.
 
It's no coincidence that all the commentators with an association with either the Roosters or NSW chose this weekend to pile on Terrell. Alexander, Cronk, Ennis, Johns, Fittler and Anasta all had a go at him on telly.
Cronk's so petty he continually calls the bloke TYrell.
If it looks like a duck etc.
He's been blacklisted.

Wasn't man enough to even have a conversation with Terrell.

I wasn't aware of the Fittler interview with Jessica and Noemi Fox until another forum member mentioned it in the context of Fittler calling out May for the jersey comment. I am sure their mother, Miriam, was a highly ranked canoeist and is Jewish, as are Jessica and Noemi. It adds another layer of inappropriateness to his comment.

As someone who was constantly overlooked for selection, I didn’t appreciate that jersey in the bin comment, but we’ve all made chirpy little comments we don’t mean before.

I didnt say I'd ignore it, i said it would be unfair to base all assumptions on the sample size of 1 game against the best team in the comp.
