So now Peter Badel is saying Tigers have there work cut out for us as Dogs and Titans are interested in TPJ also.
I think B Read said Dragons are looking also.
If thats the case we are at very long odds now of snaring him and hope we were not the ones delaying the process and thats why others have joined in... He is clearly a wanted player so hope we at least table an offer.

I don’t see either of those teams as being any better options than us. I certainly wouldn’t be putting up the white flag because they are involved.

When is the last time we signed a player who was wanted by another club?

Not sure if re-signings count, but Nofa and Musgrove were wanted by Eels and Dragons respectively.

They don't. Giving average players lengthy contracts on too much money.

that's called stupid re-signings

Is it though ? He was winger of the year . The guy is one of those contract year players . It sux . Because you have to pay him his value , and Murphy’s law says the moment he signs with someone else , because you think he’s a contract year player , he maintains that form .

he was never the best winger...ever. May have won an award, but in reality the way that is scored puts him at an advantage. 3/2/1 advantages players in poor teams. Rat ether 1-17 each game and then you have something

He’s obviously a good golfer.

That's seems to be the conventional wisdom around here. Supporters used this proposition to diminish Brooks' achievement of being named half back of the year too.

But is it true ? Are players from poor teams advantaged by the scoring system in the Team of the Year ?

If what you are saying is true, one would expect the Team of the Year to have a large number of players from the poorer sides.

A quick look at the Dally M Team of the Year for 2020 demonstrates that the proposition is obviously false.

Five of the thirteen players were from the Minor Premiers: JFH; Yeo; Kikau; Cleary; and Chrichton.

In fact, ten of the thirteen players came from teams that finished in the top 5.

Only three players came from the other 11 teams; Nofo; Staggs; and Harris.

So, clearly, the opposite is the case. Players from the top teams dominate the the Team of the Year, which suggests to me that the scoring system does not disadvantage players from the better sides.

For Nofo to get selected in the Team of the Year was not some quirk of the scoring system. It was recognition of an outstanding year.

If he was that good he would have played State of Origin.

the scoring system disadvantages payers in good teams because the points are easily split. Players dominate different games and take points off each other

BRONCOS BACKFLIP- Lodge and Pangai now going nowhere. They will see out the season with Brisbane. Kev wants stability. The speculation clearly impacting the team.

You’re not surely blaming the club, for something the Bronc’s have done?

How do you know that? Everyone on here usually treats what the media says with a grain of salt. I believe there is a pattern on us missing out on players we publicly go after.

I'd be interested to hear from the Pom or CCTW to see what actually happened

So Kevvy originally said ..There not going anywhere..then on a game day it's revealed ..they have permission to negotiate.now back to they are not going anywhere and Wests Tigers are a basket case..seems legit..

OK, then if we take that argument, then nothing has happened and he will either still sign (or has signed) here, or he will stay at the Bronc’s or he will go somewhere else?

We know nothing more.

BTW, where has the club publicly stated they went after him? They don’t seem to do that anymore.

I think it's a silly argument. You win Dally Ms for being consistently voted one of the best players on the field. If someone else is "taking points off you" then, by definition, someone has decided you weren't the best player on-field.

If your team is winning often, then you have a much greater chance of getting top points. I'd argue it's even more impressive for players from losing sides to get Dally M points, because it's simply more difficult to gain points when you don't win.

So for a guy like Nofo, it means he is appearing in the points more often than the other wingers, for a team that wins less than half their matches, and when we do win, he figured prominently in the win. Being selected for Origin is another thing entirely, where you have to oust the incumbent (or they oust themselves) to get a run. Nofo could easily have been picked for Origin at times during his career, if there wasn't someone else who was consistently picked, and if Nofo himself had been stringing together consistent seasons (which he has not been doing).

When did we publicly go after TPJ? Don't think Tigers have ever mentioned it, purely speculation.

Yeah the flight up there was to go to sea world.

Yeah the flight up there was to go to sea world.

You have no idea what it was. The only fact is TPJ himself said publicly he never met with Tigers. Isaako said he met Madge but only in context of NZ.

They may have in fact been meeting someone else, or some key QLD junior, if indeed Tigers did send their top brass up to QLD all together for footballing reasons. Who knows, they could have been meeting Milford or Oates or anyone.

Tigers take a trip to Brisbane and suddenly we are being criticised for missing out on every QLD player who they may or may not have potentially met with?

The only one who has admitted he met with Madge, was Isaako? No one has ever mentioned TPJ except Hooper?

I can’t say it didn’t happen, but neither can you say it did, as we weren’t there?

Though I am still hopeful we eventually get him.
