Tevita Pangai Junior

If we are back in the TPJ stakes I hope something falls our way for a change and we get him.. It would just be the news we are after and a massive boost to us fans..

To be fair to Chammas, he's normally been pretty balanced with his reporting of the Tigers.

One of the better ones out of an ordinary bunch. Might just be a closet fan having a vent.

Saints fan

He used to like us but has turned massively, maybe his main source is gone

Why tell the whole world about it. I wish this club would just announce it when the player has signed ,You know how the good clubs operate.

If this guy is legit back in our sights I would go all out for a Pangai , Woods , Tapine
Woods $ 250 k. Go forward & Defence
Tapine $ 600 k Tuff go forward player
Pangai $ 750 k breaks the line and hits hard
We currently don’t have this
I know folks will say Woods is past history but he is still better than any one we have playing up front , I don’t care about the past we are struggling to go forward this lot would absolutely help out , then add Hastings and the pomy Centre and we are a changed team , we can’t worry about yesterday it’s tomorrow We head for a semi spot

Woods is an interesting one. He's fast approaching the last chance saloon in terms of earning reasonably decent money and would, I think, work hard if given another chance at his old club. He also has a lot of first grade and representative experience and shouldn't cost all that much.

I’m gunna say no. He has spoken about taking a cut price deal to win a premiership. Manly or Dragons for mine

Wests Tigers have held fresh talks with Tevita Pangai Junior as they consider launching a new bid to sign the underfire Brisbane forward.

Pangai was given permission by the Broncos to explore his options on the open market and the Tigers were initially considered favourites to sign the Tongan international.

However, they dropped out of the race after being scared off by his price tag, the expectation that they would instead pursue a deal for Dale Finucane.

The landscape shifted again on Thursday morning after it emerged that the club’s head of football Adam Hartigan had spoken to Pangai Junior’s manager Matt Desira.

The Australian understands the Tigers are yet to table a formal offer and Canterbury remain in the box seat to sign Pangai Junior, having offered him a three-year deal from next season.

However, the Tigers appear to be giving serious consideration to pursuing Pangai Junior. It is understood the Bulldogs’ offer is from next year only, meaning Pangai Junior would finish the season at the Broncos.

The Australian revealed midway through last month that the Broncos had given Pangai Junior permission to speak to rival clubs about an immediate move as they sought to restructure their salary cap and reshape their roster.

The club hasn't told anyone.

Managers- do the talking. Clubs have no say who they talk to.

That seems like an accurate well balanced version to me.

Interesting. There were many mentioning on here that TPJ was Hartigans choice of player that why we specifically targeted him in the beginning as we wanted a tackle breaker offloading forward.
The Finucane suggestion was against Hartigans model I guess you could say.
I really wonder what’s happened with in our management in the past week to cause this about face.

I can only guess but I would think there wasn't 100% agreement on the decision last week.

Yes

Was only a matter of time for us to start getting desperate. The club needs a positive story.

Hopefully Hartigan doesn’t offer too much.

I can tell you, it is very hard to move him from a valuation.
