The Ashes

It wouldnt be an Australian side without one koala in it. These Marsh kids have been blessed with their careers considering their slightly above average talent.
Paine selection is ridiculous.
Renshaw has the right temperament for test cricket but seeing as he digs in rather than hitting sixes off middle peg, maybe he isnt marketable enough?

Should still dust the poms up but some unfair decisions made again.

Looks like Maxwell is cover for Marsh as well as Warner. According to Rod Hogg Marsh's back is playing up. Warner's neck is sore but he'll most likely play.

Just gone into the Cricket Australia site on my work computer to listen to the commentary at work. Has anyone seen the "boss" button? there's a symbol of a tie (top right). You hit it when your boss walks past and it flicks up a spreadsheet that looks like an Excel doc. genius.

Yeah it's a pearler haha.

Boss has the tele on in the Lunch room for us..

Solid start from the Poms after losing Cook early to a Starc pearler..

Gabba pitch seems slow ..oh it's in QLD..Lyon looks like he could take a wicket anytime..

Poms 1/59 at tea…

Not the most exciting batting display you will ever see, but the Poms are Clearly out to blunt the attack and get overs into their legs. Starc and Cummins are only good for short spells, so the longer they are out there, the more taxing it will be. Aussies have their noses in front imo.

Yeah pretty even Day 1 , the commentators mentioned the pitch was a touch soft early , but it had hardened out after lunch so it wouldn't have been easy to score on with the conditions changing

Was forced to listen to Triple M on the train, coming home from work, because for some reason the AM signal drops out on the train. What utter garbage. They don't take the game seriously. That sort of coverage might cut it for the Big Bash, but the Ashes? Gimme a break.

Very even day for mine. 1st session tomorrow will be vital for both sides. It will be interesting to see how the pitch plays over the course of the match - if it drops away we could be in trouble as we have tried to blow them out of the water with speed and don't have much back up.

He's good value. When i had it on, Mick Molloy was in the box. He might be funny in general, but he grated on me here.

Yeah fair enough. I listen to Grandstand, I've not heard Molloy ever call the cricket I don't believe. If I have he was that forgettable.

Brayshaw, Skull, Isa, Waugh, Berry and Lee are good..it's a different take..

the rest are flogs headed by Gus Worland..the Andy Raymond of cricket commentators..
