The big 3

I think in time you will find Potter will be alongside Bellamy and Hasler. **Whether its with us or not**. He emulated Belly Ache when he played for nothing (Bradford) - and emulated Hasler in team spirit (St. Helens,Les Catalans) We are on the cusp on a new era in West Tigers history & future. We have as a culture transcended ourselves in acquiring the 'new age' coaching phenonomen. How did the board get it right? Why did it take so long? Wasnt it obvious? Phew! I say.

Potter knows the **St. George** Illawarra 'culture' and the 'Bulldogs 'culture'. This will come in handy. We all hate losing to them.

1\. Bellamy
2\. Hasler
3\. **Potter** & i have Potter at 3 because of no experience in the NRL - thats it.

where are the bookmakers when you need them?

In time you will see that Potter thus far has been the right choice for Wests Tigers not because Tim Sheens was bad - many would argue that however - but because Mick 'Harry' Potter is the next step in the evolution of the Wests Tigers.

This is my prediction based on actual facts in Potters coaching history.

Good luck to Matt Parish and Kelvin Waters - we bid you farewell -

& i think with Mick Potter you'll find that sunglasses are back in.

Ive wanted Potter here for the last few years and now that he is, im trying my best to keep my excitement to a minimum….clearly your not, lol.

Exciting times, hope its gonna be positive times

i think the knights will be something next year.. i would still rate bennet over all of them, whether it's looking at the past or the future imo.

also, dont expect too much from potter. untried at nrl level.. i agree he could be bigger then all of them, but too early to even predict that.

Sorry but I have to disagree, Hasler definitely is the best coach, He went to the Bulldogs and turned them around in one year he won the minor premiership and made the grand finals. Bennet went to the knights and did not even come in the top 10.

Thank you GNR for the beautiful compliment but you've put the whole thread in context. I can see a young Lombardi in Potter. I like it when Potter says "the players will decide who is in the 13 on & off the paddock". He talks about turning clubs around - yeh maybe its a 2 year contract but watch that turn into 4 then 8\. Potter is class. Sheens - aim for top 4, Potter aim for the premiership. And i didnt say that - they did.

When did he say "the players will decide who is in the 13 on & off the paddock" because that is just pure awesome

Massive call AHX & I hope your right. It may of been destiny that Potter has ended up here but amongst the alleged contenders applying, there was only going to be one winner. I've been highly impressed with all the interviews I've heard & it's refreshing to not get cliched answers. He has filled me with optimism & confidence that had been sucked out of me this year & I think about what will he be able to achieve working with talented driven athletes if he can do that to me. I don't expect miracles from him next year & i'm not a religious person but thank god we got Potter.

I usually like you posts AHX - but this one is just too much… Making a list of top 3 coaches without reference to Bennett is ridiculous. He has one bad year and gets relegated below Potter who has never coached in NRL? Where is Cleary? Stuart? They are already worse than Potter?
Seriously?
I am as excited as the next guy but this is getting carried away...
