Is it really the poisoned chalice to coach Wests Tigers? I did a little bit of research and came up with these numbers. They are taken from and include the year 2000 up until today. I have not included interim coaches.

WT (5) Pearce,Lamb,Sheens,Potter,Taylor

Raiders (5) Meninga,Elliott,Henry,Furner, Stuart

Knights (7) Ryan,Hagan,Smith,Stone,Bennett,Stone,Brown

Roosters (5) Stuart,Anderson (Chris),Fittler,Smith,Robinson

Parra (6) Smith,Hagan,Anderson (Daniel), Kearney,Stuart, Arthur

Souths (7) Coleman,Langmack,Kitinas,McRae,Taylor,Lang,Maguire

Panthers (5) Simmons,Lang,Elliott,Cleary,Griffin

Dragons (6) Waite/Farrar, Farrar,Brown,Bennett,Price,McGregor

Doesn't look to me like you're more likely to be sacked at WT than anywhere else. Remarkable that we have we only averaged the same amount of coaches as other clubs given the media hysteria surrounding our club and at times dysfunctional board.

Winning will secure the coaches job, but i guess that doesn't sell papers.

That is interesting, I guess every club has periods where they're trying to find the right balance in their coach. We seem to be trending upwards in those numbers in recent times though, which I'm sure all clubs have had happen at some stage. A 5 year comparison would maybe be more telling for our club? Not sure.

What that tells me is that you are less likely to be sacked if you're winning. Amazing stuff right?

Add the Warriors to that list. It was an argument used often by those who labeled our former captain the coach slayer - when the truth always was successful coaches dont get axed, and clubs that are not achieving success turnover more coaches.
