The crowd was a touch... Meh

Considerring it was the heritage match…

in Sydney, with two well supported Sydney based teams, on a beautiful day,

i expected a bigger and more vocal crowd.

Ah well, to those that didn't go they missed a great day of footy (apart from the end result).

Kudos to the Wests Tigers. They did a great job the last week promoting the Magpies heritage, and the jerseys on Sunday looked great.

I would have to agree galahs. Considering there were approx 1500 dancers and most of them would have had some of their family members there to watch them, the crowd would have been worse.

scg - not exactly balmain or western suburbs.
price of entry, food etc.
shouldnt be suprised.

Through the TV the Tigers fans sounded louder but it was only because there were obviously more of them. Hard to explain. You could hear the aggression and passion when the Dragons fans went up but the decibel level of the Tigers fans cheering was plainly louder.

Yep ,if only they had Victa emblazoned on them 😢

we were quiet because we had very little to cheer about.

it was a hot day, neither team is setting the world on fire and both clubs fans can be fairly fickle so i was not surprised at the crowd.

The Drag fans were more vocal than us WT fans for sure….maybe they had an inkling that Soward was leaving and they were rejoicing for that reason. Disappointing that WT management give up home ground advantage (crowd support-wise) at the drop of a hat, it costs you eventually. You don't see the Storm taking too many of their home games away from their fortress.

I thought it was about average. I reckon with an extra win for both teams coming in.to the match, a crowd of 30,000 could have been possible.

In any case, the crowd in Sunday would have been an uncomfortable squeeze at both Leichhardt and Campbelltown with their respective capacities.

Agree with Galahs - well done to Wests Tigers on recognising the day. 2019 will be a special heritage round.

And we threw away any chance of home ground advantage by being part of a dubious concept like the Heritage Round and playing the game at the SCG. Can we just ditch the whole idea of playing at the SCG? Is there some extraordinary financial return for the club in playing there? I would have preferred reliving the heritage of the win by the Tigers over the Dragons at the SFS in the prelim final of 2005!!

You'd think they could even offer one off sponsorships to say Phillips and Victa for one off games for both sides heritage games

Would add to the nostalgia :bulb:
