The disgraceful Wests Tigers class of 2012 - a season review

The 2012 Wests Tigers boast:

4 Australian Internationals - Farah, Lawrence, Galloway, Tuqiri (ex but still was one),
3 Kiwi Internationals - Marshall, Blair, Utai (ex but still was one)
2 English Internationals - Ellis, Heighington and
2 city/country reps - Moltzen, Fulton.

some of them played in more than 1 of these rep sides and you can add Woods as 18th man for the blues.

This is the season that has been so far….

Round 1 - Shakey win over Cronulla where the refs gifted us the result...17-16
Round 2 - Beaten by the better side in Manly...18-22
Round 3 - Flogged by the Dragons in a P.Poor performance...12-36
Round 4 - Flogged by the Raiders in a gutless defensive effort...16-30
Round 5 - Had the game won yet failed to close it out through braindead plays and run down by the Rabbits...16-17
Round 6 - Started poorly yet went down in a brave defensive loss to Broncos...14-18
Round 7 - Flogged a reserve grade Panthers outfit. Still sketchy...30-0
Round 8 - Luckily beat Eels after leading all game and let them score 5 tries in the final 10 minutes. Worst win in years...31-30
Round 9 - Got the Titans in a very lucky win. The best side lost...15-14
Round 11 - Beat Warriors in a bludger of a game...24-22
Round 12 - Got the Cowboys in yet another scrappy win...26-18
Round 13 - Beat Raiders in one of our most impressive wins in years...40-0
Round 14 - Just beat a very understrength Storm and tried our best to lose it...10-6
Round 15 - Under terrible circumstances, got steam rolled by the Roosters...42-28
Round 16 - Flogged by the Knights in a pathetic game from us...20-38
Round 18 - Flogged by the Bulldogs after leading and playing some reasonable footy. Gave up the ghost in the second half against a side that was not playing well...20-32
Round 19 - Beat Panthers in a very unconvincing manner...26-18
Round 20 - Brave loss aided by a ballsy effort with men dropping like flies against Cowboys...29-16
Round 21 - Dispicable, gutless, inept, embarrassing flogging by the Rabbits...32-6

With the talent available, and the experience the side possesses I believe that the 2012 Wests Tigers side is the worst since 2005\. I think they are an embarrassment to the jersey and should be thoroughly ashamed of their work this year. A clean out of coaching staff and talent is in order or we will be competing for the spoon next year.

...oh and there is still 5 games to go...
Parramatta who we hardly ever beat,
Dragons who will easily beat us,
Bulldogs who will eat us alive,
Roosters who even though not in form, always lift against us,
Melbourne who will be desperate to win to stay in the top 4.

We are so dead you can smell us from a mile away.....

We beat them last year at Leichhardt. It will be another 5 years before we are due to beat them again. They always find something when they play us. Regardless of where they are on the ladder.
 
I was so excited before the season started. We signed a superstar international in Adam Blair, we had Marshall and Farah fully fit, I thought the boys would lift for Ellis' last season.

What an idiot.
 
I hope we can beat the Roosters, Maybe if we don't, Braith might rethink his contract and renig on the deal and stay with the CHOOKS. Maybe that might be a blessing.
 
It's been hard to watch us all year! Glad I will be in Thailand for the next three weeks!

I would never have thought that come rd21 I'd be sitting here so depressed,
I remember at the start of the season I was so confident I was going around telling all the other tiger supporters at work we'd be in the finals for sure,

As I said mate, your not alone.
 
I think that was all of us mate. This forum was heavily populated right throughout the offseason due to excitement of the coming year.

Dissapointed is putting it nicely.
 
There has been a lot of talk this year, but the results on the field speak for themselves. We are going to bow out in disappointing fashion from the look of it.
 
I don't think any of us thought we should be competition favourites before the season started but we also didn't think we would be where we find ourselves now either. Too many games that should have been won this year have come back to hurt us badly (Newcastle and Souths first time around for example). And when we lose we don't just go down by 6 or 8 points, we have been flogged.
 
RIP 2012 - I just hope the tailor are biting better then they have been on the Gold Coast cause that's what I'm doing for the rest of this football season whenever we play.

these two games are the only ones i can actually be moderately proud of winning this year. cowboys wasn't a scrappy win. i would say we played better against cowboys than raiders.

I dont know about that, against the Cows we were good in patches and terrible in others. Remember Tamou tearing us apart and outrunning Benji. A lot of ball hit the ground in that win as well. It was one of our better ones, but that really isnt saying much.
Against the Raiders, we played in dreadful conditions and comprehensively smashed them with skill, class and determined defence. Some of our best tries this year were scored in that game.

For me the Raiders win was sort of what I was expecting from the team this year - not every game obviously, but for a greater percentage than any season before hand.

With sheens at the helm we are like the titanic . I Think 2013 will be much of the same , we are doomed .

Maybe the penalty count….not so sure about the game.

Unfortunately - very accurate Stryker....someone prepared to put it on our screens warts and all....no band aids, no wallpapering, nothing glossed over.....just the cold hard facts.

As Ive said most of the year, we're not as good as we think we are....and we're cactus for 2012
