Does anybody know if and when the Footy Show is returning, and who will be hosting it, and who will be regulars on the show? Also what do you think of this show. I enjoyed Beau Ryan's reports, thought they were really funny.

Yeah it's returning and Fatty is hosting it again. I hope Beau will do his reports. Most people seemed to like him being on the show. I hope Robbo is on their aswell with his street talks. He can be a funny little smartarse at times. Matty Johns is going to host his own footy show too I think but that will be on channel 7, maybe 8.30pm on Thursdays but not sure yet.

Sterlo is also back full time I'm pretty sure. Thank god. And as much as I think he can be an idiot at times, I hope Phil Gould is a regular. He's always wanting to talk about football and not be immature like the others

getting back to the footy is what the people want so hopefully they do that 09 was one of the better years in recent past due to this.

Good to see matty back doing what he does best! But shane webcke is a bit boring, hes on brisbane news now and then doing sports reports and he seems a bit uncomfortable but it might be a good combination with matty johns who can be crazy lol looking forward!

Does anyone know if the sunday roast will be on then???

Hate Fatty and the channel 9 footy show - its irrelevent.

The Shows on Fox in and around the NRL are great to watch.

Heres hoping the channel 7 Show will learn and I never have to see Vautin the $%#%$%$ again.

PS - I heard on the Rasio its penciled in for 8:30 Thursday nights at the mo.

I read in an article saying it would be 7.30 so that the young ones could tune in. Good to hear that this one is actually going to be about footy. Will be tuning into 9s and 7s every Thursday night.

In my opinion, The Footy Show is a variety show produced with the intent of being funny and entertaining. It is on at 9:30pm on a school night for a reason - it is for older viewers who can handle the odd crude joke. It is based on rugby league, but is by no means intended to be an in depth analysis - that is what the Sunday Roast and the Fox Sports programs are for.

I personally enjoy it, I know a whole bunch of people don't like it. However I think there is significant proof that it is a formula that works, since it has aired since 1994\. Perhaps they have been struggling for ratings lately, but obviously still enough people watch to keep soldiering on.

Personally the brand of "light humour" practiced by the Footy Show is not something that appeals. If anyuthing the quality of content went up when Johns was axed. Serious issues were discussed by serious people.

I used to enjoy NRL on Fox but now that Ryan Phelan is hosting it I am not sure but will give it a go

Light hearted entertainment? Erghhhh.

While I like Matthew Johns, his characters got a bit old and boring. Plus, Shane Webcke doesn't exactly ooze a great TV personality, especially in this sort of format, but who knows, time will tell.

Let's hope there's enough proper talk about football to make it worth while. If it's stupid sketches again I can't see it lasting too long…
