The mental game

We were 10 points down against the wahs after not many minutes and could have easily folded.

But this is a mentally strong squad playing for the coach. If we concede a try, we need to brush it off and focus on the next set and play.

I have said it before, this season will be a very close competition (excluding the Panthers) and it's the mental game which will differentiate the winners from the losers and will go a long way to deciding the top 8.

Let's just not make it a habit to always rely on a comeback we need to start games well.

Benji's strategy of just conceding 2 tries at the start of a game is very unconventional.

It failed us against the Bunnies, but has worked for us with the Warriors and Cowboys. Even with the Bunnies I expected it to be a blowout and we came back.

Very unconventional and strange tactic, but seems to be working.

The mental game is always the separator.
Until it isn’t.
Then it’s execution.
Or discipline.
Or refereeing.
It’s a flexible concept.
Expands and contracts depending on what we need it to explain.
Very useful.
