The negatives and the positives

Negs:

* The Dragons weren't even good. Tough to measure where we are considering.

* Moltzen again showed he is useless and hopefully the hook he got actually means something for once.

* Re above, McKinnon was also pretty crap. Was offside for the Fulton try and couldn't clean up at the death when needed (though Moltzen probs would have done even worse).

* Lawrence injury :frowning:

* Utai had his worst of the season by a long way. Looked to have his mind elsewhere.

* Our first halves aren't getting much better.

Pos:

* 4 straight!

* Beau Ryan and Robert Lui were uncharacteristically good.

* Broke a 4 game losing streak over Stains.

* Gasnier did NOTHING.

* Our second halves are irresistible.

I think everone is being too hard on Utai. I thought he played as well as he was allowed to by the Saints defence. HE does need a slap in the4 head for nearly giving away a penalty in the 79th minute but apart from that he went well. He makes alot of metres.

I don't agree with you about our first half, I know we didn't score a try but the game was set up for us after that good first half the dragons defence is always good and one of the best

Utai was rubbish, I mean who just stands their and lets the ball bounce around at their feet let alone let it bounce at all!

He made more blunders than that. He dropped the ball at least once iirc. He also watched Morris regain it early in the game and made a terrible attempt on him when Morris scored.

Don't get me wrong. I'm totally thrilled with the win and feel it was the better of our last four victories and far more telling. It's good that there is room for improvement though is what I'm getting at. Because the Dragons weren't on the level of the Melbourne Storm tonight and we will need to raise another gear to get near them.

The real test is whether we can win the next 4\. We should win all of them but we suck against inferior opposition. If we go into the finals on 34 points after 8 straight would make us competition favourites you'd have to think.

Dragons defense was outstanding tonight. many times during the game I said, they are like a wall.

We capitalised on Sowards injury for Marshals try and the ball going through Ellis's hands gave us Beaus. other then that the sides were very evenly matched.

Thats why it was a good win McDougal. They most definetly turned up to play.

Bloody harsh with some of those negatives mate.

The 'Queens turn up to play tonight.

I agree. The Saints threw everything at us tonight. They were stung by Bennet after last week and gave it everything not to go down for a third time in a row. As Gus said, Tigers won because we had more in attack.

haha how funny was it when Soward was made to stay on
Marshall said thank you very much,went left and Lawrence blew straight past him

Main negative tonight was Moltzen. He is terrible, blew a certain try and have the Dragons one too.

Negatives are how we did not convert the chances we had in oppositions 20 in the first half . We can't continue to score tries from 60 metres out from behind and expect to keep winning . Obviously Rowdy's injury was a huge negative probably 2-3 weeks out I'd say and how we handled oppsitions kicking game . Positives Our defence was great . Our kicking game was very good . The fact we never gave up . Overall very good performance . Need to follow up against Penrith with similiar performance and put paid to their top 8 aspirations and set us up for run home .

negative would have to be Lawrence
just read on nrl.com he said he's hoping to be back for the finals
looks like he'll miss a couple weeks at the least

Neg: That very last scrum. We tried way to hard to give away a penalty there.

Yeah. That last minute felt like it went on for five or six minutes. Like the way we batted the ball over the dead ball line to finish. Reminded me of the way the Saints ended the semi final last year.
