The Old Wests Tigers Forum

I am just looking through it a bit and I found a side that Tim Sheens named in 2006:

WESTS TIGERS TEAM NAMED FOR ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA GAME

Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens has named his team to play St George-Illawarra Dragons at OKI Jubilee Stadium on Sunday, August 20, at 3pm, in round 24 of the Telstra Premiership.

1 Shannon McDonnell
2 Taniela Tuiaki
3 Dean Collis
4 Daniel Fitzhenry
5 Chris Lawrence
6 Shane Elford
7 Scott Prince ©
8 Todd Payten
9 Robbie Farah
10 John Skandalis
11 Anthony Laffranchi
12 Chris Heighington
13 Dene Halatau

14 Ben Galea
15 Bronson Harrison
16 Ben Jeffery
17 Ryan O’Hara

No wonder why we didn't make the finals that year! LOL

I knew I could find it!

At the risk of looking like Ron Burgandy… this is the thread that I started back in Feb 2008 calling for Moltz to be our halfback.

his guy should start at halfback in round 1!

the A squad in the first half were by far the better side of the night and this guy was the key.

a halfback!

some replies:

sometimes i wonder what game people watch ....

If the second half side had played the entire 80 minutes using cory payne in their squad ,we would have put 40 on the roosters ....

sorry mate cant agree with you there. i've been calling for moltzen to start for a long time now but i think he needs more time in 20s/state cup.
the A team didnt score many points or have anywhere as much flair in attack imo... although defensively they were very strong at times, i felt moltzen at half didnt do much.. there were what i thought a number of average decisions and alot of unorganisation in our attack in the first half.... not his fault but as half you have to control it.
he is a good player but definately shouldnt be starting infront of morris or head (just yet anyway).... morris & benji looked GOOD!!!!
\

Ink: Cripes!
The only thing that got me through was the 2nd half performance of our big boys, we were crap in the first half and Moltzen has a long way to go yet.
\

Tigernick: i actually didnt think moltzen did much at all, and he was poor in defence aswell.
\

Stacks: Totally agree. Moltzen was found out a few times in defence with the Roosters running there big forwards at him out wide. Dunno what game Kul was watching (must of been those fancy sunnies :stuck_out_tongue: )
>
Best half back on the day was Wayde Dunley in the NYC game IMO.

ahhh hindsight

Kul I was saying at the start of 2007 that Moltzen should take over from Prince. Imagine if he did back then. He would have probably played rep games by now and we would have made the finals some of those years, maybe all of them.

ahh you will find moltzen was our starting 5/8 in round 2,3 and 4…. we lost 2\. both against teams who finished outside the 8 and won against the cowboys who finished second last.

i stand by it, in 2008 moltz wasnt ready to be halfback in first grade, not even hindsight can change that

you are probably right fergiefurr
regardless of what has happened, Moltz has developed fairly well and he's definitely destined for big things

What about when he came on after 6 mins against the Dragons after Benji went down again…...that dont count,,,2/4

I remember being at that game. Was a good atmosphere actually…. IF you were a dragons supporter.
