He should have dived on it…he stood there watching it.

From an opinion point if view - YES. I agree.

From a rule book point of view - PENALTY Tigers.

Sorry but once it passes by the second row it is play on. BH said that on Talkin' Sport only a week or so ago.

The finals are worse than origin, the refs forget to bring their whistles to the game. I'm fuming with the refs after this game. Ok we bombed heaps of tries but the refs did nothing for us, politis paid the refs.

I don't think we should be blaming the refs or anyone in this situation, we had the game done, all he needed to do was pick the ball up. He may have played a great game but he simply lost it for us with that one action. It was the worst moment I've seen in football in a long time by a tigers player, was simply horrible.

For gods sake - don't quote the rules if you do't know them.

Just as a half back must retire - so too must a player involved in the scrum. End of story. Penalty Tigers.

why are we putting a srum move on with 40 seconds to go and in front by one ….. why didn't the half back just pick the ball up and run with it, then 4 more dummy half runs with slow play the balls ..... therein lies the exact reason we threw that game away .... but a terrific effort from the boys none the less

Im sure you'll find the rule states a half must also feed the scrum into the tunnel formed between the two front rows.
Scrum rules…..like telegrams and b & w TV....history.

We should have picked up the ball from the scrum, but what annoys me is it shouldnt have been sa scrum in the 1st place. Dywer picked up the ball after the knock on so it should have been play on.

though we should have picked up the ball so we really have no excuses

You probably are right regarding the rules, but realistically we shouldn't have needed that penalty. Any park footballer would have just grabbed that ball straight away, instead he didn't. It was a shame that Heighno ruined his stellar performance with that one moment, and I don't think anyone on the forum can claim he didn't cost us that match. Honestly we are the only team that I can think of that can loose it from that situation.

If Shannon Noll was in my lounge room singing You Gotta Lift, it still wouldnt get me off the floor so i can only begin to imagine how the players must be feeling. I thought we had survived at that point and deservedly so. I still cant believe what then took place ….

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but why was it a scrum? Dwyer put a hit on, Roosters lost the ball, Dwyer picked it up and started running? Haven't seen a replay yet, but that's how it looked live? We still should've won the scrum, but then it should have been a penatly there.

Apart from that, massive effort from the boys tonight, gutted with the result, proud of the performance (99% anyway). How good did Blake go? + Lui etc.

Tigers once again prove you can snatch a loss from the jaws of victory if you put your mind to it. For a team that has plenty of experience they make brain dad plays time and time again. We should have won by 20 and had every team shaking in their boots, we ended up going belly up and now most teams left would think we are soft. Goal kicking was also a thing that was always going to bite us

Gutted.
Heighno should have just fallen on it. I can't see how there should have been a penalty, but i only saw the scrum live and am yet to see a replay. From where I was sitting, the ball was clear of the scrum and therefore the scrum can break and anyone fall on it. Not quite sure what Heighno was thinking but he seemed to have an eternity.
But, you can't say he lost us the game. He had a great game but for that one incredible lapse. It's a team game though. We really should never have been in that spot. Sure, he falls on it we would have won. But, we also would have won had Benji not being pinged for hitting Pearce and Ellis' try awarded, had B kicked one more goal, had Ayshford got the ball down for a try in the first half, Ellis as well, had we played for a field goal in extra time having one a scrum 25 metres out from their line.
The football gods can be cruel sometimes. Tonight, they were sick and sadistic to us Tigers fans. Ask Anasta to kick that field goal again from that position and he miss 9 times out of 10\. The football gods might have one sick twist in store and somehow get the sea eagles across the line tomorrow and knock us out in week one. Part of me thinks that might not be a bad end to our season. I fear going to Canberra next weekend, a wounded team, both mentally and physically. No Benji, no Ellis, no Fulton is a real possibility.

I was not quoting the rules just what BH had said in relation to when the ball has left the scrum.

Where was the penalty to us in that last scrum! not making excuses but they call the scrum backs all the time for the smallest problems yet they don't call that one. No idea what chris was doing staring at it but we should have straight up got a penalty if the refs wernt to scared to make big calls.

just watched the last 20 minutes of the game on FOX and it defnitely was a penalty
The commentators including laurie daley and i think mark braybrook were blowing up and saying it was a dead set penalty

we all feared it would happen but the referees look like to have cost a team their season..well done you annoying
@#$%…...

it had not left the scrum - it was still in front of the lock when Nuuasala dived through the scrum!

Penalty Tigers in the real world!
