Wests tigers need to start planning ahead in terms of recruitment and retention. The list of players off contract at the end of 2017 is like the who's who of our club. I hope next year does not become a shop window where the bigger clubs can sit back and pick off our best talent leaving us rebuilding again from 2018\. Those off contract:

I would also be keeping a very close eye on Aloiai, Lovett and Heleta. If we can get them at a reasonable price, extend them for a year or 2.

In the age of the salary cap, the only way you can keep a good squad together is to identify the talent early & lock it in to long term reasonable contracts. These are not contracts where there are raises built in evey year regardless of performance, or where players get options in their favour removing the clubs freedom to control their own roster.

Agreed. Signing him up for 3-5 years should be our top priority right now. I can see him having a great year for us and then a team like Storm, Roosters etc swooping in and stealing him from us.
I hope ONeill is working his butt off finishing up some solid long term deals for players like ET, Teddy, Woods etc
