The Ultimate Power Play - NO DEAL

With everything at Gould's disposal, penrith have a losing record since he took over.

And clearly doesn't have a great record either.
When he joined the tigers he had a record just a little worse than Sheen's record in the nrl,but with zero premierships.

I would prefer we gouge the Panthers for as much compensation as possible.

If the report is true that he met with penrith, well I don't have a lot of respect for coaches who have meetings with the tigers opposition.
I don't even understand how the nrl allows this.

He would walk in a heartbeat if we let him and there in lies the problem. We dont let him and Nathan is forced to choose club over father. Like really!! a bit over the whole scenario with both of them. You have two clubs risking their seasons/salary caps, stability all to accommodate these two.
Time for the Clearys to get over themselves and suck it up - you dont always get everything you want when you want it and they are both starting to appear all a bit too self involved.

Great post
A+

So it a bit like u10’s - wanna coach my son
Anyway
I think WT is handling it all well at the moment and should stick to our guns
I think IC will stay but the only issue I have at the moment is nothing from the man himself. Makes me think he was/wants to go
Unless he wants to keep low and just focus on the footy and let others carry on - mmm don’t know

after watching the pascoe video for the 4th time.
he has stuck to his guns and being strong.
i just hope it continues

Looks like Gus is enjoying gambling with other people's money.
He has slowly dismantled Penrith the last 12 years with little in the bank.
Wonder what happens if Cleary goes to Penrith and his son losses form.
Gus will sack em both.

You obviously don’t have any idea of the strength of Penrith as a club
They are possibly in the best position of most clubs in the Nrl,
Both monetarily and as strength of current and upcoming players,

But Gus is changing his Ming like a women atm. Resigns coaches then sacks them etc wasting money for zero gain.
He will need to deliver or he will loose credibility.

Good question. isnt it an ancient Vase, or something weird?
whatever, if the previous post is correct, Gus has a few of them,

we should ask for Jarome Luai plus more
if penrith want to keep cleary that badly we are in a good postion to get something back from them that can help us

Our CEO has stated our case quite clearly and fair dink….Gould and his cronies know this could end up a very costly exercise if they wish to pursue it further. Seems to be all quiet on the western front at the moment as Pascoe has set them back on their heels. I don't consider either of the Clearys the Messiah for any team in the NRL.... :sign:

Forget about players… There's nothing stopping them sending a few over just to bottle it until they are released again. It is a stupid request!

Does anyone think Cleary is just using this to increase his value for an upcoming contract extension?

If Nathan is to come to the Tigers, we are looking at November 1, 2018 as a decision timeframe.

At this point, I'm sure Ivan will want to negotiate an extension in line with his sons contract.

Could all be smoke and mirrors?

Thoughts?

This situation is all about Phil Gould what he's in his 5 year back at Penriff spent a sh** load of money and has zip to show for it if Nathan Cleary leaves the knives will be out for Gus so he's gone all in to protect his tenure at Penrith call his bluff and let him squirm.

How funny would it be if Pascoe just flat out said no, Gould misses his man and gets the sack and Cleary junior winds up coming over anyway.
