There is no bigger grub in the game

Why is it QLD hate?

Well it not only Qld hate , its the fact he kicked Skando as well

So maybe people need to take off their Black ,Gold ,White and Blue glasses

A grub would of back slammed Williams head into ground and plead innocence

**Not cradled him until help arrived\
\
A true measure of his worth as a human and a man in my opinion**

In reality, he cradled Wolfman because he was lying underneath him, it is not like he was Mother Theresa and swooped in from afar and tended to him. Any player in the NRL would have done the exact same thing as Slater did.

His dirty tactics on the field are not just restricted to kicking Skando in the face, there have been many grubby incidents that he has been involved in. That is without a doubt the main reason why there is not a lot of sympathy shown towards him and his current injury. Behave like a dirty dog and karma will hunt you down eventually.

And sorry to say Happy, but to put the Slater-hate down to the fact that he is a QLDer is pretty absurd. Plenty of NSW supporters despise Bird and Gallen as well.

i think what slater did is the bare minimum for someone with any level of compassion. he has two options, throw someone with potentially serious neck and spinal injuries aside or wait for the proper medical staff to arive. hardly makes him a saint if he picks the 'wait' option.

Ditto on this.

Can't Stand the woman-glasser Bird who dogs a mate on the whole thing, and Gallen seems to forget he plays for Cronulla first and foremost most of the time.

I can't believe how much Bird's indiscretions have been largely forgotten, cant stand him.

IMO Ennis, despite having a wonderful publicist is not a great bloke off the field, I find him arrogant and condescending..

And Im not a fan of blokes that cross the line with the lip, for me, sledging is like water of a ducks back, but guys that take aim at things such as mentle illness, family members etc etc whether it be on the field or off are tools.

As for the man in question, Im not a big fan of Slaters antics (although I love his football) but there are far bigger grubs than him in the game.

Name one player last season who committed more kicks/knees to opposition players than Billy.

I though S Burgess was grubby this year, heaps of dirty little niggles, including a squirrel grip.

Matai, Thaiday, Ennis regularly have grubby moments of all types.

Four of the biggest names in the game that have all repped at the highest level

Some of you blokes need to decide if youre rugby league fans, or moral crusaders. :unamused:

I guess thats a pome bias?

And a Manly bias…..etc

So using your logic Irvine most cricketers must be grubs as well

What happens on and off the field are two completely different kettles of fish

If you aren't professional enough to cop a sledge now and then you honestly shouldn't be out here because it is a part of professional sport whether you like it or not

A lot of people need to put their Qld hatred aside and look at this as it truly is

If he was a normal Joe Schmo you wouldn't care in the least ,but he is Billy Slater a person who early in his career did some silly stuff

Notice how no one brings up the David Williams situation in a game that was just fireworks galore he has the calmness to know that a serious injury had possibly occurred and treats it accordingly

That's how I judge a man , when it really counts

I agree with you wholeheartedly Happy and I am a Blues fan ! We are talking about the best fullback in my time which goes back to 1973\. Didn't get to see Langlands in his prime or Churchill or players of that ilk …. But Billy must be one of the all time greats. He's no angel on the field but I'm in the old school that what's said on the field stays on the field .... Not dissimilar to how I feel about certain people on the forum ! Les Boyd was one of my all time favourite players and there was no bigger grub in the game than Les .... Which was a shame because he truly was a great player. It broke my heart when Arthurson signed him up to play for Manly and ripped the guts out of our team from which we never recovered.

So you have an ally in me on this one Happy

C'mon lads the three of us are old school and unlike the youngers ones we know a life of no political correctness

As Knuckles said we grew up loving players who were hard men both on and off the field

I don't stick Billy Slater in those categories that's for sure

And as a young fella when we lost the Boyd's ,Brown's ,Dorahy's ,Ribot 's it was gut wrenching

Absolutely ….. And proud of it too. It's far better, I think, to say it how it is, say what you think, then everyone knows where they stand. The forum is as close to the field as it gets for a fan .....ie you can give it to your mate then when you see him at the game you can go and shake his hand and say good to see you mate .... Afterall we're Aussies .... That's how we do things ... !

Yep, certainly a bit rich coming from someone who described Matai last season as the biggest grub in the game.

Don't think anybody is trying to be a "moral crusader" on here but we are allowed to have opinions :unamused: .

Good news for all the Billy Slater haters , he may still yet play in the World Cup final

Tony Ayoub said this morning that Slater was recovering far faster than expected and was still a chance of playing

Never right off a champion

Pretty sad attitude….hoping someone fails.

Whatever floats ur boat

Good reply Ink. You are a miserable bugger fade to black. Slater is still a champion and the Aussies need him.

:roll Just because Slater is a QLDer doesn't mean he isn't a wanker, you seem to be blissfully blind to this fact. Sure the Aussies need him, after all he did cost 'em the last World Cup.
If a person is miserable just because they happen to dislike someone and don't think that every QLDer has a rainbow coming outta their arse then so be it.
