These are the options being considered for the halves!!!

I get the feeling if Lazarus is to play that Sheens will give away as little as possible to put next to no pressure on the young man.

I'm hoping he is picked to give him an opportunity as well as to cause as little disruption to the balance of the rest of the side.

You make a good point, Sheens doesn't like young players getting media attention. If he names Lazarus tomorrow, everyone will be talking about it and the pressure will build up. I can see him naming Fitzhenry like some expect, but wouldn't be surprised if Lazarus actually runs on.

I think people should relax, until they see the team run out on Friday night. Makes no sense complaining about what hasn't happened yet.

Everyone's head can explode if Fitzhenry actually runs out and plays halfback.

If Fitzy makes the run on side we are in trouble…some bad defensive lapses by him last weekend nearly cost us...and he offfered nothing in attack...crabbed across the field as he always does....sorry there are better options than Fitzy!

Agree. Commonsense would dictate it has to be either Lazarus or Taumata. If Fitzy is listed at 6 then I pity the Tigers right side attack.

It's interesting because as the Tigers play, the key decisions are left with Farah and Marshall on field. Even when Lui or Moltzen were there, it was always Farah or Marshall doing the directing. Now whoever comes in will play a similar role. They'll just be there to fill the dots so to speak. On that theory it provides a good chance to blood Blake Lazerus in there. Though it also makes the chances of Fitzhenry or even Fulton or Flanagan being named at half back just as likely.

So in actual fact we may not lose much either way we go but i do think we potentially gain more with Lazerus there even if he just benefits from the experience.

Tim Sheens has been our coach long enough that we should know what he is going to do. Fitzhenry will be named in the halves.

fitzy shouldnt be named there because for 1 hes crap and 2 hes not even in the top 25 contracted players, excuses last year were we couldnt blood young players because of second teir cap restraints but this year we can shell out 75k for fitzy?

blake is a top 25 contracted player, if you arent gonna play him wjen our first 2 option at 7 go down when will he ever play him and why bother contracting him to the top 25?

was..

when did he not become one?

When he got his 1 year contract extension whilst he was out injured. I don't even think he is listed as top 30 now because they did away with that category, but considered as one of the top 40.

From the Tigers website

Biography
Blake Lazarus is a talented young player with good ball skills and a fine kicking game who is also an accomplished goal-kicker.
>
Lazarus is hoping for a better change of luck in 2010 after undergoing two knee reconstructions over the past two seasons.
>
**A member of the NRL full-time squad**, Lazarus has worked hard over the summer to get his knee right.
>
Off the field, Lazarus won the Wests Tigers U20s community award and does an enormous amount of positive charity work for the club.

Sorry. i will correct my previous statement.
WT have a top 25 and top 35(not top 40).
Blake falls in the latter and is NOT a top 25 player.
The club kept one position open in the top 25 for the likes of Tupou, Taumata, Lui, Dwywer, Woods or Roqica.
So being in the top 35 means he just trains full-time with WT.

CT it is a requirement by the NRL that all clubs have a top 25 contracted player list, this is not negotiable every club has to have one, so who is the 25th player

As much as i would love to see lazarus start i have a feeling that sheensy will name him at 7 start him on the bench with Fulton in the halves and drop Brown completely with Fitzy on the wing. I think if they do this it wouldnt be a bad move just ease him in. No one should forget that he hasnt played first grade before and i think sheensy wont throw all his eggs in the one basket with him expected to play the full 80\. We have seen it before with the forwards and even this year with fifita getting slowly more and more minutes. even though they are completely different positions and roles with the way benj and robbie have started the year i dont think they need someone spectacular just for him to go out there and do a few things but do them well. defence is still an issue though and he will be targeted

Well everyone knows it is compulsory to have a top 25\. Even when Longmuir was CEO he was interviewed on the radio about it when WT were short the year before.
But i think Taumata is a top 25 player. Not 90% sure on that one though.
