I think the frustrations from Ex-Magpies supporters and people who live in the south west were highlighted today in the article about ''Farah chooses Leichhardt for life''. We always here how much the players love Leichhardt and rightly so, its been around forever and has so much history, yet you never hear boo from them ever about C-town, or the very few times you do, you can tell its been force fed to them by the club, its not something that has come straight from the heart. I'm not saying they MUST feel the same about Cambo, but they should at the very least try to appear enthusiastic about the place

Jeeeezus! Are you having a whinge about Robbie saying he loves Leichhardt and that he has been playing on the ground since he was 12? So what, it is the truth. Never heard supporters having a whinge about their captain speaking the truth and from his heart before.
He also stated that he loves running out in front of the WT Members and supporters, that is all you need to worry about.

Heres an example for you. Often lately on here I read "the clubs financial situation", which is right, its the "clubs" its "ours". But when fans didnt show at Campelltown **it was because the "Magpies" didnt turn up**. How does that work? There probably isnt any venom in it, no malice, and possibly accidental, but it re-inforces that the sentiment is still out there, that we arent paranoid in feeling like the red-headed step brother sometimes.

Humphreys said the 'local' community didn't turn up - and I think that's the point of most people on here.
If you read local as 'Maggies' and not 'WestsTigers' supporters then that is your take on it.

Go back to page one and read the OP. Strip it back to nuts and bolts Ex-magpies are called whingers, and jealous of Leichhardt… few posts later "And taking a LOCAL DERBY to a ground that couldn't pull 10k is not what is best for the club. What is going to get the Magpies fans to come back to the games? Winning?". Hell even signed off the OP with a pot shot at loving the JV less.

Think about it... thats the attitude that earned 30 rep point. If as a fan you were isolated by that sort of rhetoric, how would you feel? People think the seige mentality some magpies have is unwarranted, but its there in black and white with a green box down the bottom.

Black and white… if it makes u feel better, as a wests tigers supporter originating from teh Balmain half of the merger, i love the maggies as much as the balmain tigers hence = wests tigers

I do agree that the Tigers, have to do more to engage the cambletown/maggies supporters.. i read an article that two years ago the parramatta harold mathews team had 9 western suburbs juniors in the team... + the crowds at cambletown in recent times have been very average...

So to all you former maggies supporters, what is it going to take to make you feel more appreciated?

The truth is the majority of these magpie fanatics hate campbelltown as well, there all lidcome boys so there stuck in a no win situation.., you should be so lucky that you merged with the tigers, one of the biggest national marketing teams in the nrl money or no money.
Do you ever wander where all the members and fans that used to go to the tigers club are going now while we have no club and making more money for them????

Think you're reading to much into it - the reference to him playing at Leichhardt for life is because that's where he started and that's where he'll finish.
Like someone else alluded to if it was a Wests junior (like Lawrence) the headline would have read 'at Campbelltown for life'.

Does he really have to give Cambo Oval any recognition in his contract renewal speech for Christ sake? Would it have mattered if he mentioned Cambo but not LO? No, not at all. He said he loves our Members (which is made up of supporters of both sides of the merger). He probably didn't even think to mention Campelltown because he would have thought people would be mature enough to not make it out to be a big issue.
What next do you expect? That WT force the NRL to put in the fixtures….."Round 3 Wests Tigers vs Parramatta at Leichhardt Oval (p.s don't forget Wests Tigers play at Campelltown too)".
The closest thing I can think of comparing it to is a kid who spits the dummy because his Dad gave his brother a bigger Samboy chip than he got. It's crazy. Not worth bothering about. Just support the team.

Dude, i have had a long day, probably explains the spelling mistake and why i had to edit an earlier post of mine twice. You have a clear lack of understanding, i never questioned his love for WT's you're making up fairytales, i was just using what he said as an example of why people may be upset over the way the club and the players seemingly don't have much connection to Cambo

I said WT and all of it's components (LO, CO, BT supporters, WSM supporters and every other single little thing that contributes towards OUR team WT).

Best suggest that you just concentrate on the games of footy anyway, don't sweat about petty us/them issues. We are one club united now, remember the old days but don't let 'em cloud your judgement on the WT :sign:

The WT has issues financially, in the boardroom a geographical dilemma, a fan base thats very mixed and perceived to be divided but what WT does have is AN IDENTITY CRISIS..

Poor presence in the south west of sydney, inner west centric operations and inconsistent jersey and merchandise designs.

We all support WT but the club needs to be consistant with the WT brand and the media needs to also help promote that very correctly

Its 2013 ands rabs calls WT Balmain tonight in the middle of a call. This is evidence of an identity crisis. People always say on here 'move on we are WT' but until the club and media promote the WT brand properly then things will be muddled and messy and these kind of threads (and stuff on facebook) will continue to thrive.

Identity crisis is pretty apt imo.

They focussed on old balmain stuff and The ground during the pre lim to tonites game, Ive no probs with that but I think some people get confused when Balmain Tigers legends Blocker & Sirro are working for WTs and talking Wests Tigers - I think some people might put it all together as one…..it becomes blurred for some not so up to date on our club.

I heard our team called balmain or balmain wests tigers four times tonite...case in point
