Worst part of his commentary was when he stated that Nofa is a smart player lol


I noticed Gus tried to backtrack a little after saying that. He then went on to say but not the greatest tackler ..or something.

Gus normally ships me to tears but I didn’t mind his commentary last night. He was quite fair and didn’t bang on about one small point over and over again.

He also commended Nofa for protecting his fullback when he took the next bomb after the one Laurie dropped. I never want Nofa catching a bomb instead if Laurie.

Didn't one of the Fox commentators say the same thing around half time? I remember thinking they weren't wrong. I've watched this team long enough to know we can give up a lead like that in the blink of an eye.

Absolutely, 18-0 isn’t really that big a lead in the scheme of things and we’re certainly not the only team who can give up a lead like that. Happens regularly in at least one game a week.

Yeah we got the win but if Gus said that he wasn’t far from the mark. We were up 34-6 with about 18 to go and rather than go on with it gave up a couple of simple tries and looked liked we’d gone home early.

Don’t get me wrong I love a win but would much prefer a team that just goes on with it

You are 100% correct, that guy is a deadset dog but gee he caused us some grief every time he ran.

Don't know if it's my Wests Tigers bias but I thought that just about every time he got the ball the pass was very marginal and how he didn't go on report or do time for the Liddle kneeing incident has got me beat.

Will be very disappointed if the Match Review Committee don't pull him up for that one.

I haven’t had to listen to Gus for 12 months thanks to Kayo.

Kayo is pretty good, but Cooper the Gronk does my head in.
Last night I found that when he starts crapping on I sort of hear his irritating voice but what he says just doesn't register because I just some how turn off.

At one stage I thought about turning on channel 9 instead but then remembered that Gus would probably drive me mad as well.

No one seemed to mention that St.George actually won the second half, they just kept going on about how great we were, but didn't mention how depleted the St.George roster was.

Wests Tigers played very well last night. The only real blemish was that they didn't have the "mongrel" to go on with it during the last 18 minutes. If there is one thing this team needs is that need to concentrate for the full game. Madge will make sure that they improve in this department.

Listening to fire up podcast they mentioned Cronk has a strange verbal cadence to he talks...they were comparing him to Steve from Malcolm in the middle.

Absolutely!
We stopped running hard and direct. Lost line speed all of a sudden and unfortunately dropped a few possessions. Massive momentum swing that would not have happened if we didn't clock off.
