Thoughts on who will replace Moltzen ?

Sunday footy show today - they (Johns, Fitler, Price) mentioned Robbie & Fulton at halfack … Fitler was adamant we should leave Robbie at hooker. In the end, they said we just need a "shifter" to serve Marshall 2 wide of the ruck and that some young bloke with a decent pass and kicking game is the answer - they didn't seem to know anything about Laz but their conclusion suggests Laz should get his chance this week

What did Lazarus do that might lead to him being suspended?
That would be a disaster as AJ is supposedly also still injured.

He's up on a tripping charge. If he is suspended I wonder if Darren Nicholls becomes an option?

well i think he does, good kicking and passing game imo last year i dunno how much he has improved this year though

Awful to lose 2 halfbacks in the first 5 rounds, we can't take a trick….

I can see Robbie being shifted to halfback and Fitzy to hooker. Would probably prefer Lazarus to be given a go though.

if Farah to half happens im expecting Chris Corby to be starting hooker not fitzhenry ,who doesnt even look like he wants to even be there

Lazarus or Taumata. As long as Sheens replaces either one of them for the injured Molzten, i think all fans and supporters will be content. Replace a half with a half. Don't try to manufacture a No.7 _eg. Fitzhenry_.

There are potentially 5 possible scenarios that I can think of that will take place in the absence of Moltzen & Lui.

1). Fitzhenry to 9, Farah to 7 :brick:
2). Fitzhenry to 7 :brick:
3). Marshall to 7, Fulton to 6
4). Lazarus to 7 (_as a shifting half, a traditional pivot type role)_
5). Taumata to 7 _(Depending on fitness i guess)_

As long as the first 2 scenario does not eventuate i'll be satisfied with the latter.

Unlike other club's, Wests don't rely heavily upon a traditional No.7\. Farah ala Smith for Melbourne, orchestrates the attack from the ruck. Farah's play making ability is top notch and can generate go forward, second phase play and can organise direction and field position from the ruck area. Marshall's game is effective wider of the ruck. It always has been, mainly due to the extra room for breathing space, enabling a little more time to think.

These two men are the key to the Tigers attack, regardless who is named in the No.7\. But it would be extremely refreshing to see a half named as a replacement which will assist in lessening the load and take some pressure off both the brains trust for Wests.

Bring on Tuesday afternoon for the Team Announcement!! This will be interesting to say the least….

Yeah I just saw that. These blokes have no idea who the Tigers have in State Cup though. Lazarus will be odds on favorite surely. Darren Nicholls is possibly another option.

Just on the topic of Vossy and the Tigers though, he gave Andrew Fifita a huge wrap as well as Ben Murdoch from the Toyota Cup squad who he said has a sidestep like Benji and is one to look out for.

Ideally I hope blake gets a run.. but I can actually see Lawrence shifting to 6, Benji to 7 and Daniella coming into the centres.

For the love of god, I hope sheens doesn't keep Fitzhenry in the halves.

Im hoping Lazarus comes in, but if Sheens does put Corby at 9 and Farah at 7 im confident we'll slay the Dogs. Im not suggesting Farah should be 7, but i have no doubt a Marshall/Farah combo in the halves with a talented hooker would be a success.

laz is a cleanskin , never been on report b4 n honestly there was nothin in it , just the way he fell over the try line , i think he will b sweet n after all his dissappointments over the last 2 years surely this is blakes turn 2 shine come on sheens u cant hide blake 4ever , let this kid finally live his dream LWR

I reckon Sheens will use Fulton and Lawrence as makeshift halves throughout the match no matter who gets the 7 jersey.
But if Sheens was fair dinkum, he used Lazarus as 18th man to cover for injury down in Canberra, so if he was good enough then, he is good enough 2 weeks later surely!!

Totally agree there, buddy.

Joey said this morning Farah -7 Marshal -6 and then seemed a bit upset when snorkey and Freddy dismissed the idea. I was pretty surprised he wanted a halkback replaced by a hooker, especially when that hooker is playing his arch rival this weekend.

I swear sometimes these blokes are still smashed on these sunday footy shows

I'm hoping for Benji to half and Fulton to pivot. Not sure I would risk lower grade halfbacks at this stage. Its an almight difference second grade to first grade.

The Panel on the Sunday roast had no idea. Geyer tossed up Ryan (?!) at HB. Johns went for the Farah move from hooker - i.e. weakening one of our strongest positions. Robbie's long passing game may be there - but his bustles from dummy half and his ruckwork around the forwards when their on song are vital… and Ryan at halfback would be nonsense.
I'am surprised Gould didn't mention Lazerus, given the hype generated around him by forum members, and Goulds fairly vast knowledge of the NYC juniors that show potential. Either way, Lazerus wasn't mentioned, and no-one knew of a junior that could come in as an actual half. All the talk was of a reshuffle.

Noway Sheens will move Farah into the 7 jersey given Farah is pushing for his spot as the Blues hooker. Geyers suggestion for Ryan at half, while fantasy i don't think would be any worse than Fulton, Fitzy or Flanagan….

The Tigers just need a link there, someone with a good quick passing game. For mine Lazarus is a straight swap and would cause minimal disruptions. I would like to see Tuamata aswell because his running game will add a spark most teams will not be defending against, especially when we work plays in and around the ruck.
