Pleased to see you are reading the world's largest-ever selling Good Book...the Holy Bible @cochise, or maybe your wife found it for you?

That's right, the bible is the most read book in the world, followed by two other fantasies, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings in 3rd and 4th place respectively.

Im not the one that believes in a religion that hates gays, against womens rights and thinks slavery is fine, but we all know where your moral compass lies ?

Cherry pick away to justify your paper thin non points.

Not only an Atheist but a Christian Basher - hope you enjoyed yourself.

"I knew you would go too far!"

For pointing out your blatant hypocritical beliefs? I know, its a little unsettling when you get called out from your bubble and shown reality. Should educate yourself some more and try it sometime, although reality isnt for everyone.

@cochise If you don't mind me asking, you said previously that your wife is religious, can i ask what faith she adheres to ?

Of course I do not mind, she is Catholic but moving further away from organised religion as the behaviour of the catholic church is exposed.

I have read it a number of times, I have been involved in religion for a large part of my life. I actually met my wife when we were teenagers at a catholic youth group.

Whatever you say FD - it is ok, I have turned the other cheek.

I'll pray for your misguided soul.

can this be closed now? I hate to see arguments of this nature between WT supporters - I have my own beliefs but there is a time and a place for it to discuss these things

I don't think there is a problem with people discussing their beliefs on here, it is a topic that interests me.

that's fine, to each their own - I shall try not to look into this topic as often anymore - have a good one.

@4jtigers
I enjoy reading many of the comments here and am not threatened by them regardless of my own beliefs. You don't have to open this topic if you do not appreciate the comments within. I have beliefs and opinions about soccer and its fans for example, so I never bother opening the 'Soccer ..... keep it all here' topic.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
–Matthew 7:3-5 (NIV)

I love how non-believers quote the bible back at believers just to make a point. Why quote it if you don’t believe in it?

@NT_Tiger - I enjoy it too to a certain extent but anyway thank you for the advice, it is appreciated.

@cochise Thanks mate.

Yeah its a tough one. As a Catholic myself its obviously tragic to say the least what some within the Church have done.

But at the same time, we don't worship 'the church' or its priests, so i couldn't see myself moving away from faith because of what some evil people have done. I also keep in mind the vast majority of priests are good men who have devoted their entire lives to serving others.

I honestly don't know any couples who have your dynamics, with one being a believer and one not ... i keep getting images of that Simpsons episode where Homer stops going to church :joy:

What good would praying do? How have you demonstrated that praying works? ........................crickets

While you pray for my misguided soul, i'll hope one day you may use an ounce of logic and come to the rational understanding that what you belief in is completely unfounded.
