You can’t win a premiership without a strong halves combination so
Foxsports.com.au has ranked all 16 No.6 and No.7 duo’s ahead of the 2022 season to see how they rate.

8. TIGERS

Halves: No.6 Jackson Hastings, No.7 Luke Brooks

Analysis: Adam Doueihi’s long-term injury has given star recruit Jackson Hastings the chance to form a combination with much maligned halfback Luke Brooks at the Tigers scrumbase.
The Tigers have made some shrewd moves in the player market and will field a more competitive squad in 2022, which could provide the perfect opportunity for Brooks and Hastings to shine. Hastings is not the same player that left for the Super League after he took out the Man of Steel award in 2019 and he has unfinished business in the NRL.
Brooks was linked to a move to the Knights in the off-season, but now that he is staying he will be keen to lay his ghosts to rest and finally lead the Tigers to the finals for the first time since 2011. Brooks has often been made the scapegoat for his side’s lack of success, but if the Tigers can start winning, Brooks can prove his doubters wrong and produce the type of footy that saw him crowned Dally M halfback of the year in 2018.
Well this might give the Brooks minority some hope 😃
Pretty impresive when you consider those below us:
1. Panthers🐈‍⬛
2. Storm. 🌩️
3. Eagles🐣
4.Eels
5. Roosters🐔
6. Rabbits🐇
7. Warriors☠️
8.Tigers 😸
9. Raiders🤢
10. Dragons🐉
11. Sharks🦈
12Broncos🐴
13. Titans😱
14. Dogs 💩
15. Cowboys🤠
16. Knights🦄

If the Hastings/Brooks halves combo does click (with Peachy at lock) I’d imagine Doueihi will be coming back into the team through centres. If not (or injuries) then into the halves.

Stop the season and go straight to the finals. I'll take that Top 8 right now.

Yep I If the centres click it will be 14 or reserve grade

Our best player won't be playing off the bench or in reserves that's for sure.

Don't think he walks straight into 17 after he's injury

I do.

My missus [Broncos supporter-boooo] has not long been retired from physiotherapy, 32yrs.
After seeing a preseason photo of AD, she commented on his quadricep muscle of the affected leg. Apparently it is still undeveloped as a result of surgery and lack of normal movement [I couldn't tell the difference]
A strong looking quad on the inside of the leg indicates it's nearly rehabilitated.
Also the way they train now is they get the player to extend fully during sprinting and when they can do that along with other knee related strengthening exercises without restrictions they can play straight away. Of course they have to pass contact and wrestling drills but the day where you eased into playing is changing.
Playing reserve grade is still playing isn't it, but the amount of munutes he plays is another thing because if the knee is fatigued then thats when its vulnerable to injury. Most injuries to knees post surgery are actually strains not tears.
Another example if this is Tommy Turbo's hamstring tear, whilst it's a different body type [muscle - ligament - tendons] the theory is the same.
She also said AD has long levers [long legs] which are susceptible to strains so you can expect his knee to be strapped with Kinesiology Tape for the initial games.
Can't wait to see this Lebanon Aussie develope into a great player ??

I haven't seen any Super League games at all , honestly havent seen Hastings play since he played for Roosters. Thought it was just some keen people here but sounds like he's rated highly by others too.

Not sure how any halves combo with Reynolds in it isn't in the top 5 though. Walker wouldn't have had half his assists without Reynolds.

As good as Reynolds is, his potential halves partners are Billy Walters and Tyson Gamble. Hope A-Rey has a healthy set of shoulders.

Tyson Gamble showed some good touches and a will to win when he got more first grade minutes, he hates losing.
I won't rubbish that guy. He's still young and developing and I thought he was going to be a real tiger.
Best thing for him was to leave us and be picked up by The Ponies when they could only get better.

Centre is a possibility this season when he's coming back from injury.

Agree, centre it will be with Gildart unless ½-⅝ has problems.
He won't kick for a while I think, that responsibility lies between Brooks and Hastings.
Goal kicking is hardly a problem if you score next to those 2 poles sticking out of the ground.

Apologies for the first post where the numbers are all over the shop, stupid phone, nothing to do with the operator 🥸

I think with Brooks Hastings The Peach Laurie and Doueihi on the field at the same time I think we will pack alot more punch more options I think we will surprise alot of people and move teams around tire them out I think Sheen's will be pushing that

I Agree.
Since WT begun we never seemed to have trouble scoring points, I think that is our DNA. A legacy the Benji Marshall started and left behind.
This year with Peach and Hastings adding to our arsenal we should cross line no probs.
A broken record that always pops up is "D"
Can the Cayless injection improve us?
Also no-one seems to be talking about our successful assistant coach Gardiner who joined WT in 2021 as Head Coach of the club's Knock-On Effect Cup side.
I feel he has a good working relationship with the younger guys.
