I think he may well be picked for the weekend.

Strong runner but whoever plays outside him this year won’t see any ball. Never looked like passing to Cini in the first half. Then our wingers get accused of being ordinary - contrast the Panthers on the weekend.

Yeah, I don't think that's a big deal..
Backed himself.
If he trusted his winger which will come in time hell be OK.

He's a real hitta imo.

So Cini is the short, often dominated and not fast over 10-20 that topped the charts in reggies last year. Swap for him Addo-Carr now please...
What a hype job @pawsandclaws1

Johns/Hoffman far better prospect

I liked the look of Johns and Hoffman.
Douihei was great too.

Talau, Cini and Dillon... a lot to work on.

You’re absolutely spot on, Dillon esp.

Yeah I wasn't impressed with him at all...
Future is bleak for him imo.

Hope he can tile a roof or something.

The young man has talent. I saw enough in him to suggest with a full season in the CC he will progress through to the NRL. His ability to get on the outside of his opponent to create opportunities is refreshing to watch.

Johns to me has a very one dimensional game and needs to learnt to pass and set up his winger especially since he is not overly blessed with pace. I would expect him to put his head in the second row. How many more strong but slow backs do we require?

Yeah and so did Matt Mulcahy.
Ask @Milky ...
what's Mulcahy doing these days?

Small percentage make it through and I gotta feeling Dillon isn't gonna be one of em.

Gus has already said he is transitioning to the backrow, how he knows is anyones guess, but he gave him a wrap

He could do well there as long as he can adjust to the additional work in defence.

With all this talk about Johns, has anybody checked whether he is officially signed with Wests Tigers? If by chance he is, then is he is the top 30? Otherwise he won't be playing first grade this season.

After he has played a full season in CC we will be able to make a better judgement. Dillon and a couple of his mates from Flegg did not have the opportunity to train with the top squad as they are not on development contracts.

As mentioned... train and trial.
No contract
No development contract

I hope we sort that out.
He looked good in the brief stint in the trial.
Was a positive amongst a lot of negatives.

Low expectations for him tho.
He wasn't Reynolds bad. But didn't really a prospect to me but we will see.

Well this is the 1st time it's been reported that Grant has 'officially' asked for a release supposedly on Monday which is after B Smith's injury was known..

You would think Grant would have cooled his heals but given B Smith doesn't normally replace Cammy anyway ..just comes on as a running forward ..perhaps Grant feels he would be just riding the pine anyway even with B Smith out....

Not a good look for the Storm to disgruntle a player even further...

Was wondering why some were making a big deal about Brandon Smith being injured and that it would almost certainly mean Grant would be staying. Cam is still there.. Which still means no one else is playing at hooker!

i think we will get Grant he's obviously still chatting behind the scenes, i also think its in his best interests in the long term to be with us anyway.

He’s signed as a Canterbury cup player which are normally short term deals I think.

I could see Johns either becoming a wing or a back rower.

That Tuiaki type winger or more of a battering ram second rower. I'd sign him on a development contract for this year and see how he's going towards the end of the year and look to promote him to the top 30 next year perhaps. We need some fire and brimstone in our pack.

Definitely something we need,
We can have all these big dudes, but you need guys with aggression too
Dylan Napa, Joseph Tapine type players
I think we are pretty covered in the big strong meter eater type.Who would be a biggest hitter in attack and defence? Josh A ?

Yes to fire and brimstone. But I hope we're not pinning all hope on 1 game. It's good that he could fire up at his old team but can he do that for other matches where emotions may not be there.

It makes a lot of sense for Melbourne to release him after Round 1. They will then have up until June 30 to name a player in their top 30, rather than before round 1, and it will provide cover for Brandon Smith's injury.

We might just need to use Walters / Reynolds for the first few rounds.

CC Magpies contract currently but looks good .... could be a smokey. Looks better value than Dylan Smith who just doesn’t seem to be able to break through to NRL level.

Huh?

Are you suggestions Johns in the NRL or BJ in CC?

Both are ludicrous.

And the only reason the Storm would keep grant for a few weeks is to cover for Cam. Grant is not cover for B Smith. Only for Cam.
