Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah blames injury and different combinations for his side's conservative approach in 2011.
The Tigers have widely been regard as the "razzle dazzle" side of the NRL for the past few seasons, with the likes of Farah, Benji Marshall and Robert Lui weaving their magic week in, week out.
But the 2005 premiers have made a relatively slow start to the 2011 NRL premiership, with Tim Sheens's side adopting a more conservative approach.
"I think (attacking approach) comes with the consistency of the playing group," Farah said on Fox Sports Monday Night Football when asked about his side's lack of flair.
"At the moment because we are chopping and changing every week we have found it hard.
"And I think that's why we have probably tried to rein it in a little bit
"When you have got your best 17 on the field playing week in week out, you can afford to throw the ball around a little bit more and play with a little more flair.
"But at the moment we have had a different halfback for pretty much every week
"So it does make it hard when you are continually chopping and changing."
Although Farah is disappointed with his side's start to the 2011 NRL season, he believes his own form has not been up to scratch.
"I think that comes with the consistency of the playing group." Farah said
"I have been finding it hard to get into the games with the ball."
Farah was adamant that success was not far away if his side could hold onto the ball and take their opportunities.
"Hopefully we can start holding onto the ball and get some yardage and that will make my job a little easier," he said.
