Balmains promising Harold Matts squad were beaten by Souths last night 30-10\. The Tigers boys went into the game full of confidence after last weeks victory over the Bulldogs but Souths came out completely focused and overpowered the Tigers, simple handling errors and the lack of defensive pressure allowed Souths to get the upper hand.
A dropped ball over the try line and a couple of missed oppurunities prevented the Tigers from staying in the game. there were plenty of below par performances particularly definsively from a number of players but they will bounce back and be very competitive team in this competition.
The Tigers have not selected their final squad while Souths came into this game with their final squad, not making excuses but we will improve once we do the same.
It was good to have a tough hit out against a good team and Souths definately have that. The Tigers will now select their final squad and focus on the season proper.
