Tigers + SMH

Nice to see that we are on good terms with the SMH. They've got about 4 good news stories on us online atm.
The tele with idiot rothfield continues to either ignore or write defamatory rubbish about us.
Unfortunately for sponsors we probably should try to have some level of professional relationship with the telehacks but lets ignore them for a while longer.

Its chalk and cheese isn't it.

News Ltd has us at deaths door with no light at the end of the tunnel, yet SMH have positive stories.

At one point it was reported our players gave only the bare minimum to the DT, yet were happy to chat at length with SMH. Rothfield is one of the most emotional and bias reporters out there, he never lets the truth get in the way of a personal vendetta.

Oh the Fairfax press know how to manage a good vendetta or two, the days of Fairfax being one of the great broadsheets is long gone…...

They seem to have an agenda against the Rozelle village development, running a one sided story. It's my favourite Aussie paper by the length of Flemington race course.

Why any teams talk to the DT has got me stuffed. They stick the boot into our game at every opportunity. Surely they can't be that stupid that they wonder why some players don't want a bar of them.

I did notice that the SMH article basically said the DT line about our finances was a load of crap. It's worth keeping in mind what they said next time the Terror runs another article about how poor we are.

That seems to be based on someone (either a journo or an editor) who must live in the area. As you say though it is a much better paper than the competition. Part of my morning ritual to read it on the train on my way in.

I prefer to read the SMH but on the train the broad sheet format turns into a disorganised rabble far too quickly

SMH weren't too kind GF day 05 when they published an article on the back page was a story on how Wests premiership hopes threatened to be derailed over Mark O'Neil losing the captaincy to Prince

They aren't exactly angels

I'm fortunate that I can get through the news part before it gets too crowded and the sports section is easier to deal with.
What ever happened to the move to a smaller paper size? Is that still happening or have they given up? I guess the non-news parts already are in tabloid size…

It will be happening soon …...and the old broadsheet will be gone forever... :frowning:
