I think we will even mabe in the top 4 if we play at our best who can stop us only problem is we need to fix our defence and he stated that i cant wait for 2013\. What do you think ??

The squad is definitely capable of finishing high on the ladder. The perennial injury problems we have usually knock us around, but if we have a Coach who changes 1 player for 1 injury. Well be sweet.

True that i like how lots of peaple think we wont make it well we do have the 2 biggest stars in our team and we can beat anyone on our day its not like we missed the 8 by heaps this year haha we will be sweet as far as im concerned.

With a new voice and structure, we can easily be 6 competition points better. That is top 6.

Ever since 2005 we seem to have a stack of injuries, I dont know what it is we just seem to have a lot of injuries & our injured players are never out for one or two weeks its always six, seven or eight weeks. I cant put my finger on it but it has me scratching my head, maybe we dont start the season fit enough? does anyone have any ideas?.

I think there's no doubts there's talent in this squad. Marshall and Farah are two of the best players in the game and we have them both. Coupled in with Woods, Galloway, Blair, Anasta, Lawrence and Fulton - there's more than enough to work with for Potter. I have no idea why 2012 went the way it did. Looking outside in, it just looked as though things became tired and stale. We were basically banging our heads against the wall. It had little to do with lack of personnel. The above mentioned players alongside a mix youth such Koroibete, Miller, Murdoch-Masila and Sironen. Potter would be quietly stoked at his position i feel.

The pressure though will be on him to turn that talent into wins. It'll be his job to infuse the youthful future with the quality experience we still have. Can we still make the 8?? Of course we can but there's a lot of unanswered questions here that will take a fair portion of 2013 to answer. Personnel wise we are good enough though.

The no7 will have a big bearing on how we go. Miller seems to be in the frame for the job and although I have always been a Miller fan, it's a massive ask to step up from the u20s and take control of a Nrl side for about 20 odd weeks.

Of course what do we have in the way of a fallback plan if Miller gets hurt or is not up to scratch?…Benji or Moltzen again?????Seems to me to be a real issue once again that could bite us hard

Some great points above. I can feel everyone's excitment for 2013.

Yes we have loads of talent in all three grades. You don't win Grand Finals or come runner up for nothing.

Give Miller a real chance at number 7 and see how he goes.

I don't know where we are going to play Anasta? His defence, kicking game and cool head need to be someone in the starting line up. maybe lock but then we need Blair/Bell/Fulton/Pettybourne to step up and dent the advantage line.

Defence needs to be the number one item to work on during the offseason. It was very poor this year.

Also if players know they are only as good as their last game and everyone is accountable and can be dropped then we should see a better performance and pressure for positions.

So far I have liked anything that has come out of Potter's mouth the last couple of days.

Me think good times ahead for 2013.

Your on a safe bet with Potter at the helm. This ship is moving forward again. Our rudder let us down. Its since been replaced. But always remember - there are them out there who have no pity for our cause. As far as they're concerned Potter is a neville nobody - (any reference to 'real' name is purely fictional) Can you imagine our dreams are based on benji's, robbie's legs, hands and mind & Braiths looks without a map? I shudder. Enter Potter. Looking forward - the question is not how good Potter will be but rather how long will it take for the team and coach to gel? Thats me anyway. But yes, definately a top 8 contender and unlike last season could be a dark horse in this race to the finish. Back to Summer.

i think with our new coach , a few new players we will be in the top eight next season in position 4

dogs , souths , melb , tigers , raiders , manly , nth qld , sharks

broncos to just miss out

wooden spoon , panthers just infront of warriors

Your right we will be in the 8 we have the team we only just missed the 8 this year and we had a poor year its looking fresh and bright for next year i cant wait new coach since 2003 whoooo.

only trying to be positive after the season we just had , as for the lotto numbers if i knew them i would share them with all our forum buddies

Yeah, fingers crossed for 2013,but finishing in the 8 is not only Potters goal but also for every Team that missed out this year so its obviously going to be tough.
The Beau & Heino affair has died out quickly, hardly a mention of it anywhere online,i guess everyone has moved on until we play them next year.

Beau and heino were great for our club but i think people have had a chance to look at what talent we have coming through , we have talent to burn in most positions

Odds are against us New Coach and old coach still here

Many factions still at the club that will derail us at the first sign of trouble

2013 with our current roster won't be a pretty season , but 2014 is a different story if we can get a couple of hardened props

Is it certain that Sheens will remain at he club in some capacity? Even so I cannot see the co-existence of a new coach and old coach a problem. The new young talented players coming through this year will pose real threats to the positions of the older players. These young players will not be aligned to any faction. Any older players who may unwisely be aligned to a faction will have enough on their plate trying to find form to secure their position in first grade. Also, Potter as a new coach will not have any favourites. He will not be swayed by any factionilism and quite rightly he will make his decisions on which players are performing, beginning with the first training session and trial match. The pressure will be on players to perform throughout the year unlike last year when some notable expensive senior players thought that they they just had to turn up to retain their first grade position. 2013 will be a positive turning point for West Tigers.
