Tigers top eight spot

Broncos to miss the eight????
They just picked up stagg and prince. They will definitely make the 8

Whilst i have no doubts MP is the man to lead us to glory, my expectations won't be as high as they were this year & i never thought we were premiership favourites but that we would be around the top 4 & we would be in a good spot once the semis rolled around. I just want him to instil passion & pride in the players & have them demonstrate it on the field & not just talk it up in the papers. I hope that he is allowed to invest in sports science like he alluded to in his interview on 2KY last week.

Stagg and Prince aren't fantastic buys. I doubt they'll make the 8 and if they do they won't be competitive in the finals

The season draw will help them out again…..no doubt they will have their usual 20 or so Friday night games, 7 days break between every game....it is some sort of a pretty handy unfair advantage.
Surprised the other clubs haven't kicked up more of a stink about the lopsided draw that they get every single season

It is certainly unfair. I also noticed the Raiders have scheduled only 1 free to air game in the first 20 rounds.

What is the go with the draw?? Do teams nominate what day and time they would prefer their match scheduled for and the NRL tries to work around that? Seems absolutely ridiculous that the Broncos get such a leg up and nationwide exposure while certain other teams are probably only on FTA once a season if they are lucky…..seems like a case of the rich get richer.

Add to that, that we are forced to endure the fanatical, one-eyed propagandist crap that spews out of Wally Lewis' mouth (and to a slightly lesser extent Lockyer) and it all adds up to a loss/loss situation for any poor bastard that loathes the Broncos

Its in 9s contract a live QLD team must be shown each Fri.
Cowboys prefer the sat 7.30 slot for their fans.
Titans havent really rated lately so leaves only Broncos, even though theyre crap and hell dull boredom ….the draw is only a draft but more than like we wont see much diff

Doubt we'll make the 8

Thanks for that. Do you know if it is in 9's contract that a live NSW team must be shown as well? I know most games feature a team from NSW anyhow, but I just wonder if it is in the contract.
Sick to death of seeing the Broncos…bring back the Crushers for a bit of Friday night variety :astonished:

And yep, the mighty Tiges will make the 8\. The talent is already there, with a couple of new players, a different positive attitude and some fresh ideas we will surprise a lot of people IMO. Quietly confident of a good showing next year

No excuse not to make the eight we have a team full of rep players including

Tuqiri
Lawrence
Marshall
Woods (soon)
Koroibete (soon)
Galloway
Blair
Fulton
Anasta (i think)
Farah

What is it that people don't understand about this? its a requirement that at least 1 Qld team get a Friday night game every week so the options are pretty limited. And since the Titans have been playing like a busted the last couple of seasons, the options are narrowed even further

We had thesame , if not better this year.
Tuqiri - 2 seasons past it.
Lawrence - one of the most dissappointing from this year
Marshal - genuine star but only valuable at 5/8\. Just about the comps worst halfback.
Woods - genuine star
Koroibete - Raw and new. Could be anything.
Galloway - Could be a real threat but needs a huge rocket up his arse every game.
Blair - useless in 2012\. Have hopes he can rectify in 2013.
Fulton - tries his best but isnt a rep standard player.
Anasta - Will hopefully provide stability, but is past his best.
Farah - genuine star

In 2012 we also had at our services:
Ellis - poor year
Heighington - Mixed bag, mostly ineffectual.

Point being, names mean nothing. The squad as a whole were disgraceful this year and big changes are needed to even make the 8\. If our defence doesnt get a total overhaul, we will finish worse as other teams have strengthened.

Odds are against us New Coach and old coach still here

Many factions still at the club that will derail us at the first sign of trouble

2013 with our current roster won't be a pretty season , but 2014 is a different story if we can get a couple of hardened props

Is it certain that Sheens will remain at he club in some capacity? Even so I cannot see the co-existence of a new coach and old coach a problem. The new young talented players coming through this year will pose real threats to the positions of the older players. These young players will not be aligned to any faction. Any older players who may unwisely be aligned to a faction will have enough on their plate trying to find form to secure their position in first grade. Also, Potter as a new coach will not have any favourites. He will not be swayed by any factionilism and quite rightly he will make his decisions on which players are performing, beginning with the first training session and trial match. The pressure will be on players to perform throughout the year unlike last year when some notable expensive senior players thought that they they just had to turn up to retain their first grade position. 2013 will be a positive turning point for West Tigers.

Agree that some positives will come out of 2013 but if you think NYC boys are going to have picking whether they will be on the side of the Pro Sheens or Anti Sheens factions will be easy then think again

Especially if Sheens is going to be involved with the junior players in some way

2013 is in no way going to be an easy year for the club and the quicker people start realizing that the better

I dont see why Fulton isnt rep standard??

Tackles his bum off and gives attacking options!!!

Look at the qld locks in last ten years and if Fults isnt their standard i will give it away!!

Big changes?? We were 10th…
That's more like tweaking not big change

Was commenting on his rep status in reply to the OP. Had a look back at the locks for the past decade for QLD origin, he has been a better player/or the equal of Flannery, Norton and Carlaw, however IMO, J.Smith, D.Johnson, T.Carroll and A. Harrison are all better players. Unfortunately he is a NSWelshman and in that time he has had to deal with O'Donell, Ryan, Laffranchi, Watmough, Bird and Gallen. He is a very good player, but when origin comes around there has always been others rated more highly and with good reason.

Bit of mute point possibly anyway isnt it if Anasta may be used as a ball playing lock? Or do you think Braith will be in the halves?

Big changes to our defensive structure and overall attitude are needed…and they need far more than a tweak.
